Happy Birthday to the amazing Judy Garland. I have written a lot about Judy on my blog, you can go back to older posts to see my thoughts about her.  I love these two pictures I found of her on pinterest. They capture inner moments of Judy.

Here is the trailer from one of my top five movies of Judy. She doesn't sing in this one. It's all acting. It is a beautiful romantic movie called The Clock. It is from 1945. Judy is paired with Robert Walker in this one.

If you have never seen in, then you are in for a treat.

Happy Birthday, Judy

How could I let this day past by not
acknowledging one of my favorites! If
you are wondering where I have been, I
have been on grand jury duty service. I
had to serve for 4 weeks. I am done on
Friday.


Though her birthday is almost over, I am
going to share one of my favorite scenes
from The Pirate. Starring Judy and the very
dreamy Gene Kelly.



Judy is singing Mack The Black here. They
had to reshoot this scene because the original
version was deemed too wild! I wish they
had saved the footage. This version is free
and lush. Judy really let herself go in this
beautifully. Enjoy.

Since I was little, I've always adored Judy Garland. That voice. Those warm eyes. That combination of strength and vulnerability that she resonated.

I always thought Judy was pretty, it made me sad years later when I learned she didn't see herself like that.

The weekends were the best time to catch a Judy Garland movie on channel 7 or 13. It would make my day shine brighter.  When my friends would ring to go outside, sometimes I say my mom wanted me to stay upstairs. Really, a Judy movie was coming on and I didn't want to miss it. Who could blame me?

Happy Birthday, Judy.  Thank you for making my days happier with your movies and music.

I was re-reading a book on Judy Garland
that I have which is chock full of pictures.
I love Judy. She is one of my all time favorites
since I was little girl.

I saw this picture of to me a lovely and hopeful Judy.
It made me feel happy and dreamy all at the same time.
