Happy New Year's Eve

 

It's that time of the year, my friends. This year has been a lot! It has been challenging, chaotic and crazy. I have to say personally, what has been the silver lining for me is that my online intuitive business has taken off. That has been a blessing in so many ways. I hope for all of you there has been some blessings and good surprises along with this year.

I woke up this morning, feeling sad. Sometimes life comes at us so packed and quickly. You need time to cry and let yourself feel. Once I did that, I felt this burst of energy. It's okay on this last day of the year that you cry or even on the first day of the year. Feel your feelings, my friends. They are meant to flow through us!

                                    

Here is something fun. Pick a word for the year. I have been doing this for several years. If you look on the right side of my blog, you can see all my previous years of the year. Taking a word of the year has been amazing to see how the energy of the year manifests for me. I will be sharing my word of the year over the weekend. It's my Blogversary!

Swanofdreamers turns nine today. Nine!!! I love my sweet blog. It has been a haven and healing place for me. We are eight today

My sweet blog turns 8 today!! I remember writing my first post and my heart pounding as I published it. Wondering who would ever find me or my blog. Swan of Dreamers has been and still is: lovejoydelight! Swan of Dreamers is my place to talk about all that I love and adore.

Her hardest hue to hold.

6 years and My Reputation

Happy Thursday, my friends. Today is a big milestone here for me. It is my blogversary. Swan of Dreamers is Six years old. Six!!! It seemed like yesterday, that I decided to take the plunge and start a blog. Swan of Dreamers for me was never about having a zillion followers or making money from my blog. Cheers to those who do that. My blog was and is a place for me to talk about things that are close to my heart. Also, to spread rays of sunshine in my corner of the blogging Universe.

I want to thank all of you, from my new fellow dreamers to my long time blogging dreamy friends, who visit here. I know there is so many other blogs out there, it means a lot that you come and spend time with me here. Sending my love to all of you:


As February, the love month winds down, I want to share a wonderful movie I saw last night. I subscribe to Warner Archive Instant. They have a variety of great old movies, for ten dollars a month you can't go wrong.

My Reputation (1946) starring Barbara Stanwyck and George Brent.



Barbara is Jessica Drummond, Jess to her friends. She is a recent widow of two teen boys. Her whole life has revolved around her family and her demanding mother. She is beginning to resent all the restrictions placed upon her while grieving her husband. Her best friend, played by the wonderful Eve Arden, encourages Jess to go with her on a trip to Lake Tahoe. She goes and begins to heal. There she meets Major Scott Landis played by George Brent. The Major is a man who lives by his own rules and makes it his business to help Jess to open up.

What happens next? My friends, you have to watch and see for yourself what happens. It's one of those great old time romantic dramas that will have you cheering and feeling all mushy inside.

Barbara Stanwyck is wonderful in this. She is a great actress and has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. She gives a luminous and vulnerable performance. You feel her as Jess. George Brent is one of those great romantic leading men who I feel has been forgotten today. Whenever I see his name in a movie, I know I'm in for a treat. He was Bette Davis' favorite leading man. I agree with her, George can do it all. He can be suave, sexy, strong and sensitive when need be.

Happy Thanksgiving

For all my USA friends, I'm wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving. I am grateful for many things. I like to count my blessings daily. By focusing on what I have, I attract more good things, people and experiences my way. I am grateful for all of you, my fellow dreamers, who come by to visit leaving your comments and love here. Also, those who come without comment. I feel your happy energy when I come on my blog, too.

I have a top ten list of people I'm most grateful for which include dear friends, my mom, my husband, Sean and especially my Jacob. Have a beautiful Holiday weekend.

Winter Meeting

Words can't describe how I felt reading all your comments to me.
Sharing your stories of your own personal griefs touched my heart.
I didn't feel as alone. I realized that what I'm experiencing is part of
the journey as I heal. This weekend was tough for me. I feel accepting
that I have this grief inside of me, not pushing it away is the best
thing I could do for myself. I thank you, one and all. Truly.

Now on to something else..

Last week, I got to see again a new favorite Bette Davis
movie. Winter Meeting (1948). Bette plays Susan Grieve,
a poet living in Manhattan. Being coaxed to go on a
double date, she meets a reluctant War Hero named Slick Novak
(played by Jim Davis.) Instead of Slick falling for the girl
chosen for him, he is intrigued by Bette. A sweet romance
follows that helps both of them grow as people.

It is a gem of a movie. Winter Meeting is not one of Bette's celebrated
movies, it is worth your time to watch. To my surprise
looking on IMDB; I saw Jim Davis years later played Jock Ewing
,The patriarch of the Ewing Clan, on Dallas!

In a Swan state of mind

Sunday morning, I got up to find a wonderful comment from Poetic Dreams that she had something over at her blog. She made tags for me. To say I was delighted is too tame. You are the best Poetic Dreams.

Ironically, when I was a kid. I never really liked my last name. When I hit the teens, I found my last name made me unique since Michelle is a popular name. As an actor, I get asked all the time. Is that your real name? Yes, it is I always say proudly.

I found cool facts associated with my namesake that I didn't know.

My old friend William Shakespeare was called "The Swan of Avon".
