What I am reading

 Happy Monday, my friends.  Sharing a few of the books I have been reading. I am currently reading this wonderful spiritual book by Abiola Abrams. If you are interested in Goddesses of the African Diaspora, this book is for you. I am half way through, and it is packed with deep knowledge and rituals.

This famous magna, but new to me, called The Rose Versailles, is a retelling of Marie Antionette's story. It also stars Oscar, the noblewoman, who is part of the Palace Guard and Count Fersen who is love with Marie. I am intrigued and can't wait for the next volumes. I am currently getting these from my local library.

The three part interracial love story magna called Love! Love! Fighting by Sharean Morishita is a sweet treat. Oriana, a curvy heroine, is dealing with grief, love and loving herself in this 3 part manga. I love to support independent creators.

Monday Meditation: Goddess Lakshmi

Happy Monday, my friends. One of my favorite Goddesses is Lakshmi. She is the Hindu Goddess of wealth and prosperity in all forms. For me, she exudes happiness whenever I think of her. What a better way to start of the new week with Lakshmi. Here is a chant dedicated to her that I hope you will enjoy listening. Remember my friends, wealth is a birthright for all of us. Not for a blessed few. You are deserving of all the prosperity you desire!

Happy June

Happy June, my friends. June is named after the Roman Goddess named Juno.
She is the Goddess of love, marriage, fertility and children. June is known
as one of the most popular months to get married. Yes, that is not a coincidence.
On a side note, the full moon in June is also called the Honey moon. The Honey moon
is going to be on June 28th.



If you are happy in romantic love, then do things to strengthen the love you have
attracted in your life. If you romantic love hasn't come your way, keep that hope
alive. That means that Mr. Wonderful or Ms. Wonderful is right around the corner.
I truly believe Love is a frequency we have to attune to. The more you truly love
yourself, you attract people who will truly love you back.

When I was feeling a yearning for love, I play this song. It always made me wistful
and hopeful too. I have found A Dream is truly a wish your heart makes. Guess what?
Dreams do come true.

It's Friday, bliss out

Happy Friday, my friends. Friday is the only day of week named for a Goddess. It is named for The Norse Goddess of Beauty, Love, Prosperity and numerous other attributes.

It's a day for beauty, fun, love and all those good things that make us happy. Great colors to wear today are pink and green. I also add whatever color that makes you feel blissfully happy, wear that. Do what makes you feel beautiful. After a long week, you deserve to feel effortlessly Beautful.

Manifest Monday : Dive Deep

This is what I got from the energy of Mami Wata.
Do you remember the things you did as a girl or boy that made you happy? Bring that childhood magic energy forward to now. Figure out how to infuse a bit of that energy in your manifestations as an adult.

I love music. When I was a girl, I loved to play records on our record player or tapes. This past week I've started ,when especially feeling stressed, I play more music out loud in my home instead of on my phone. Brings me energy and lightens my mood. It allows me to share more music with Jake too.

Dive deep and look at your childhood to find hidden magic to fuel your dreams.

Winter Dreams

The Sun has returned! Happy Winter, my friends. It is the longest night yet the days will begin to get longer.


Winter is a special time for me. I am Winter baby. When I see the Pine Trees come into their own, I know my season is about to begin.



It's a new Season. A new year to begin in less than two weeks. It is a great time to reflect and dream. What dreams you like to begin? Or recommit to? Do you have your word, words or theme of the year? I have my word of the year for 2017. I'll share that when New Year's Day arrive. You are never too old to have dreams. Always remember that. Winter is the perfect time to dream, plan and manifest for yourself.




One of my new favorite Mother/ Goddess Figure is Frau Holle. She also goes by the name Hulda, Holla, Holda . Her story comes from Germany.The Brothers Grimm has Frau Holle in one of their stories. She is a Winter Goddess. Frau Holle shakes out her goose feather pillows, then, the goose feathers become snow falling down to us. She is said to favor hard-working people with a soft spot for children and mothers. One particular tale I read is that Frau Holle likes to gives gifts to Mothers on the Winter Solstice. That gave my mom heart a particular delight. To me, Frau Holle shows even in a season ,we at times may think of, as cold and barren. Beauty and kindness are still there waiting for us to open our hands to receive.




Tonight, light a candle. You can choose a candle in any color that makes you think of Winter. As you light a candle, think of all those Winter Dreams you like to happen. See and feel how it will be for the dream or dreams to come true!

Happy June

Happy June, my friends. It is a very misty rainy day in The Bronx. I always say the flowers and our reservoirs need the rain. As you all know, I love Rainy days.

June is named after the the Roman Goddess Juno. She is the goddess of marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, children and family. A warm hearted and loving Goddess. This is a great time to take stock of your family life. Do you need to reconnect more? Plan a family get together? If you have a child like me, think of fun and education things to do with your child. If you are in a committed relationship, is it time to take the next step to marriage? Or bring more free time and adventure to your marriage and/or committed relationship. I'm sure Juno can bring wealth of ideas to you.

It is also the birthday of this famous lady.

Marilyn would have been 88 today if she was still alive. I always had a soft spot for Marilyn. I am sure that is the reason I like pictures of Marilyn where she appears fresh faced. I think it shows the girl who was Norma Jean that still lives in her Marilyn Monroe persona.

Happy Spring

Hello my friends. It is a gloomy looking day in The Bronx with a threat of snow coming in the air. Snow!! Winter won't let go. At 6;45 est, Spring will officially be here. Not only is it the Spring Equinox, it is a New Moon in Aries, and a Solar Eclipse. It is a cosmically charged day, my friends.



Here is my Spring altar chock filled with roses, eggs, bunnies, crystals and shells. I have my altar up high to discourage Jacob and Jet from getting to it. Having a preschooler and a kitten around makes for a lot of highjinks especially when decorating.

I want to share with you a lovely story about Spring; also, why bunnies and eggs are connected to it. The story goes ,as I understand it, that the goddess Ostara had woken up from her slumber. Thus spring began. All the animals wanted to share an offering to her. So they did, then one sweet Bunny came up to her. The bunny had a basket of eggs with colors in the shades of flowers, sky and sunshine. Ostara was so delighted with her gift. She declared Bunnies and eggs her personal favorites. Long after new religions sprang, still bunnies and eggs remain part of Spring.

I'm wishing you all a wonderful brand new Spring.

New Moon and Lakshmi

Happy Sunday, my friends.

It's a busy spiritual Sunday. This is the new moon in Scorpio. Also a solar eclipse, and the Hindu festival of Light called Diwali. In the last couple of years, I've only become aware of this festival. You can click on the link to know more about it.



It honors one of the most lovely Hindu Goddesses, Lakshmi. She is a Goddess of wealth, beauty, grace and good fortune. I was taught her special day is Sunday and her colors are gold, pink, red and orange. With all these beautiful energies around today, lighting a candle, making a new moon wish or saying a prayer to whatever your faith is would be a wonderful act to do today for your spirit.

Dancing with Chaos

Happy Tuesday, my friends.

Here is the passage I read this morning from one of my favorite books
Goddesses for Every Day by Julie Loar.


"The Goddess Eurynome (yoo-RIH-noh-mee) according to legend
rose naked from Chaos.She began twirling in a dance that
separated the sea from the sky and darkness from light,
bringing order out of Chaos. Her spinning created the
earth and the stars."

I love this legend. What if we can be like Eurynome and
dance from chaotic moments of our lives. What beauty, adventures
and choices would we create from that? Dance with life instead
of reacting from fear and despair when rough times comes.

Something I will ponder as I go through my day.

Harvest Moon

Tonight is The Harvest Full Moon, my friends.
It's a special moon for me because it's in
the sign of Aries which is my moon sign.

All my fellow sun and moon sign Aries, this
is our moon. If you don't know what your moon
sign is, click here to find out.

For everyone else, you can still use the energy
of this Full Moon for your own good. Aries energy
to me is passionate, courageous, action orientated.
It's has a Go for it energy. Whatever or whomever is
holding you back, break those chains and go
for what you truly desire.




Something which I was reminded about today is this. We are
energy in a body. If you are experiencing conflict in
any area of your life, remember that whatever it is
you can change it. You can refocus your thoughts and
actions to attract more of what you really want. It
can be challenging, but it can be done.

Before I go, I want to share a soulful freebie that
I created for my Spirit business. I was inspired
to create this and upcoming things that are in

I can only say that if you want to get clear with your

Friday Love

Happy Friday, my fellow dreamers.

It's the New Moon in Aries.
All that fiery, strong and courageous
energy floating around us which is
perfect for the beginning of Spring.

This time is special for me, my moon
sign is in Aries, also, that Jacob was
conceived around this time.

Speaking of Jacob. He's now over 9 pounds.
Full of happy energy. He is napping right
next to me in his bobby pillow as I write
this.

Friday being the day of Love. The only day
of the week named after a Goddess, namely
Freya.

It's fitting I share my sweet family love
on this Love Day. We took these in late January.

Friday Love

Happy Friday. This is the first Friday
I've been able to blog in a while. It has
been merry mayhem in my life. I feel like
things are starting to settle down. (Hopefully.)


Did you know Friday is the only day of the
week named after a Goddess. Friday gets it's name
from Freya. She is a Norse Goddess of Love,
Fertility, Passion, Magick, Prosperity. I love the
fact that her chariot is led by cats. How cool is that.

So, Friday is a great day of Love. With
Summer here, I think it's a great time
to indulge in some Self-Love. I feel
the more we love ourselves, the happier
our lives become.

Tonight is all about you. Do what
makes you smile. Be as simple or
extravagant as you want.

Here is some great Self Love Activities:

Order in some delicious food.

Make a wonderful meal out of scratch.

Watch a favorite movie.

Or lose yourself in an old beloved book.

Light beautiful Pink candles.

Take a long bath or shower.

Gaze up at the waxing moon.

Write or draw in your journal.

Read poetry out loud.

Look in the mirror
and say I love you 9 times.

Dance around the home.

Play around with ways to wear
your hair or makeup.

Just have fun and celebrate you.
There is a Goddess in every woman.
