Happy Mother's Day

Being a Mom is a privilege. I know for some motherhood isn't a path for them. I respect that. For me, I would have missed out on a lot in my life if I didn't have Jake.



Yes, do I miss sleep. Yes, I don't get to sleep as often as I like. Jake always wants to know where I am, what I'm doing and how he can join in.



Being a Mom requires Patience! See how I capitalized the P in Patience. I did that for a reason. You must be patient through the tantrums, the excessive no's, the wanting to play ball for 15 minutes when you are bone tired. You take a deep breath, stay calm and be as kind, loving and patient with your child.



It is so worth it all. When you get frequent hugs, kisses, have your child read to you or ridiculously laugh for no reason. The best part is that I know Jake and I will always be close. That warms my heart. Happy Mother's Day.💝

I remember when I first had Jake. I use to marvel at all
the other mothers I see. They appeared so calm and confident. I felt awkward and unsure. What I learned, like most things in life, there is a learning period. Now, being a mom is second nature to me. I always tell people I feel like Jacob was always here. I know the unsure mom I was in 2011 would be pleased at the mom I am now in 2015.

I am wishing all the mother's out there a wonderful Mother's Day. Being a mom comes in many different forms.

This is Jake and I coming back from 150th anniversary of NYFD. They had an open house of firehouses all over the city. We went to the firehouse near us. Had a great time. Jake loves firetrucks.

The Road so far....

Happy Wednesday, my friends. Perhaps it's the stirrings
of Spring in my soul, I have been feeling restless.
I love blogging, yet I feel unsure at this moment.
What direction should Swan of Dreamers go next? Should
I even consider that perhaps my time at blogging has
reached a natural end? Or is that I need a bit of
inspiration? Or that I'm feeling the natural ebb and
flow of being a mom. Figuring out how to balance my
creativity with the demands of motherhood.

Has anyone else felt this way?

Well...I'm going to take time away from
blogging. Hopefully, I will be back soon. If not,
look for me on March 20th when Spring officially begins.

It has been an intense two weeks.
I find being a new mom is like
being on stage with no script.
Pure improv 24-7. There have
been beautiful moments and other
moments where I feel painfully inadequate
as a Mom. I'm learning.

These are my four favorite things that have
helped me during these past two weeks:

1) Fisher Price Newborn Rock -n- Play.
Jacob loves this. So do we. It is bright,
cute, lightweight to move from room to room.
If anyone is pregnant or just had a little one
this is a must have.

2) Raising Hope which comes on Tuesdays, 9:30 pm. It is
a hilarious show with a sweet tender side. The premise is
Jimmy Chance unexpectedly finds he is a father of a
six month old girl after his one night stand with a
serial killer. Yes, I did say serial killer. His mom and dad,
along with maw maw all pitch in to help Jimmy raise Hope.

3) The Actor Within: Intimate Conversations with Great Actors by
Rose Eichenbaum.
Acting has taken a back seat for a while. Reading this book
filled with interview with Ruby Dee, Hector Elizono, C.C. H. Pounder
Joe Mantenga to name a few made my acting heart sing.


4) My husband, Sean.

I call him the baby whisperer.
His experience of taking care of his little brother when he
was a baby along with his calm and laid back nature. Makes
me feel at ease all the time. One of the many reasons why
I married him.

Happy Monday.

Did you all enjoy the full moon in Gemini? The clouds
here hid her from me. I could still feel her lunar touch.

I have survived my first hands on week of motherhood. Sean
and I have been doing the around clock feeding for
Jacob. So it's little sleep..still it's a joy
to wake up to see Jacob's happy face. Or to kiss
Sean and call him husband.

I'll be back again this week with a regular post.
