Happy Day of Venus : 2 Becomes 1

One of my favorite songs from the 90s is 2 Become 1 by The Spice Girls. I found this video with Baby Spice, aka Emma Bunton, singing 2 Become 1 last week. To my delight, she is an Aquarius, too! Friday is the Day of Venus, and Venus is also in Pisces, my Natal Venus placement. This song had a dreamy Piscean vibe perfect for a Friday. Enjoy

Dreamy Thursday: Autumn Dreams

Autumn is here. Dreamy soft colors of brown, ecru, mustard yellow, pale peach and apricot shades are here to inspire you for this magical season of Autumn.

I love all the seasons. A little nip in the air, the crunch of yellow leaves underfoot and a misty day in Autumn always leaves me in a romantic state of mind. Being the star of your own life always in what you wear.

Here is to wearing whatever make you feel beautiful, authentic and free. Enjoy these early days of Autumn, my friends.

Dreamy Thursday: Studies in Beauty

Happy Thursday, my friends. May is here and I am feeling the romantic vibe of Spring. Here are a few pictures that echo how I feel this season. Here is the beautiful Nicole Ari Parker.

This lovely model comes from Giambattista Valli Spring Collection two or three years back.

The lovely model Jolie Jones from the 60's. Beauty is timeless, my friends.

And what is Spring without a beautiful bride to be? I have a fascination for
lavender wedding gowns. They are beautiful.

Wishing you all a magical and romantic May.

Dreamy Thursday : Romantic style

Happy Thursday, this is the second time I have tried to bring back my Dreamy Thursdays post.  I am doing my best to plan ahead, so I can schedule a bunch of them. I love Dreamy romantic clothes, music, films, ideas, etc. Especially with the world as it now, we need it more than ever. This is from the lovely Nadiife on you tube. I especially love seeing sistahs doing this.

It is so wonderful to see more women like me in costume dramas more. Of course, with the rise
of independent brands like Selkie and Dynasty George, there is a moment now for more romantic wear
for daily use.

Of course, Bridgerton had a big influence on reigniting this style. There is the lovely Adjoa Andoh as the inimitable Lady Danbury.

Look how dreamy she looks in white. I think my love of this style came from middle school and high school when prairie skirts were in with pretty white blouses that I loved to wear.

I finally watched Sanditon! It was good but the ending made me sad. Sorry for the spoiler, I am ready for season two. It was so exciting to see the first black character that Jane Austen wrote about on the screen. The lovely and strong Miss Georgiana Lambe played by Crystal Clarke.

Sanditon season 2 starts on Sunday. I am looking forward to seeing it! I hope Georgiana and Charlotte's love lives get better for them this season.

Representation does matter!  I am happy to see beautiful sistahs in dreamy styles in real life and on the screen as well.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day, my friends. Here I am peeking in to say hello.

Being the romantic I am, I am sharing a new romantic discovery. No, not Bridgerton. If you haven't watched it, please do. It is a wonderful show. I am very happy to see more actors of color being able to do more period pieces. The 1971 BBC version of Persuasion is my delightful discovery. Persuasion is my favorite Jane Austen book. I saw the 2007 version of Persuasion which I like, I have to still see the 1995 version. I found the 1971 version on you tube.
This is Anne Elliot (Ann Firbank) she has finally seen the love of her life, Captain Frederick Wentworth, after seven years apart. She was persuaded by her godmother, Lady Russell, not to marry him. Captain Wentworth hasn't forgotten her refusal of marriage and still hold a grudge. This is the gist of the story. It is a deep and beautiful love story. When I first began watching the mini series, I didn't like it at first. It is very much like a play, after a while I really enjoyed it. It is very faithful to the book. Now, I love it!
I don't want to give too much away. This is Anne and Captain Wentworth (Bryan Marshall) reunited briefly in a sweets shop. This is the first inkling that the lovers may have a second chance.
It is a great ensemble cast. All the actor embody the characters to me. I adore Ann Firbank and Bryan Marshall's Anne and Frederick. Sadly, Bryan Marshall passed away in 2019. Here is a fun Star Wars fact that makes me love the series is even more. Ann Firbank plays a small yet memorable part in the Rise of Skywalker ending. Makes it a full circle moment for me. If you are really interested, I have the first part of Persuasion to watch. Part 2 is also on you tube.

Enjoy, my friends. Happy Valentine's Day.

Black Girl in a Big Dress

Happy Friday, my friends. About a few months back, I was told about a you tube web series that I would love. It's called Black Girl in a Big Dress. It is now one of my favorite web series. 😊

It's about an African American woman named Adrienne (Aydrea Walden) who loves to cosplay in Victorian Era. She is trying to find love influenced by this Era in a 21st century dating world. It is sweet, funny and poignant. As a dreamy romantic, I totally resonate with this show! It's about to start its second season soon

Each episode is 4-5 minutes. Of course, I have the first episode for you to watch. Enjoy, my friends.

Manifest Monday: Love

Love, love, love. One of the main pursuits
in life is to find romantic love. This isn't
always easy. My own love life has been full
of twists and turns. Despite it all, I still
believe in love. Especially true love. So
should you.

Want to manifest love. Or improve the love
you have. Visualize how it feel to have the
kind of love you always desired. No matter
how "impossible" it may appear right now.
Close your eyes and visualize your beloved.
Do this as many times as you need to.

We are energy, my friends. You send out that
energy, it will come to you. Just stay open
and receptive to Love manifesting in your life.
Here is another one of my favorite love songs from when I was a kid. This song came out in 1981.Enjoy.
