Happy May Day

It is a brisk and cold spring here in The Bronx. I wish I could spend some of
May Day frolicing in my local park, looking for the Green Man with flowers in
my hair.How to celebrate this day if you have loads of responsibilities like me or
have the weather be crappy on this day like me. Improvise my friends.

Here are easy tips for you:

*Play music that makes you feel free and light like spring.

*Bring flowers to your home: real or fake. Decorate flowers
around your home. Wear flowers in your hair or wear floral
clothing.

*Spritz floral fragrance on yourself or in your home.

*Burn pretty candles. Here is a pretty electric rose candle I
got from dollar tree.

*Find a piece of poetry you like to read celebrate today.

*Write your own poetry.

*Make rest of Spring plans you like to accomplish.
For me, I have to start searching for photographers to get
new acting headshots. and, continue my workout routine.

I am leaving you this lovely poem by one of my favorites,
Emily Dickinson.

Whose maids upon remoter green
Keep their Seraphic May —
And all day long, with dance and game,
And gambol I may never name —
Employ their holiday.

Here to light measure, move the feet
Which walk no more the village street —
Nor by the wood are found —
Here are the birds that sought the sun
When last year's distaff idle hung
And summer's brows were bound.

Ne'er saw I such a wondrous scene —
Ne'er such a ring on such a green —
Nor so serene array —
As if the stars some summer night
Should swing their cups of Chrysolite —
And revel till the day —

Like thee to dance — like thee to sing —
People upon the mystic green —
I ask, each new May Morn.
I wait thy far, fantastic bells —
Announcing me in other dells —
Unto the different dawn!

Happy May Day

Happy May Day, my friends.

I love this old rhyme:

"The fair maid who, the first of May
Goes to the fields at break of day
And washes in dew from the hawthorn tree
Will ever after handsome be."
- Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme

What are you going to do celebrate this day?
I am going to go out to my local park. Find
a few of my favorite trees and sit under them.
Soak up the sun and be one with the land for a
while. Maybe even find a Faerie portal open
for a bit.

Whatever you do today, make it nature focused and
nourishing for you. Happy May Day.

Happy May Day

Happy May Day, my friends. Here are a couple of ideas to celebrate this day from a May Day's post two years ago.

Now the bright morning star, day's harbinger,
Comes dancing from the east, and leads with her
The flowery May, who from her green lap throws
The yellow cowslip, and the pale primrose.
Hail, bounteous May, that doth inspire
Mirth, and youth, and warm desire;
Woods and groves are of thy dressing,
Hill and dale doth boast thy blessing,
Thus we salute thee with our early song,
And welcome thee, and wish thee long."
- John Milton, Song on a May Morning

The best advice for today is to frolic, feast and have fun.

Happy May Day

Happy Friday, my friends. It's May Day. May is here and finally Spring is beginning to be felt. My favorite apple blossoms are blooming now. Their heavenly scent filling the air. All our sweet wildflowers are coming up to: dandelions, wild iris, violets. It is beautiful to behold. Dandelions, are my old friends from childhood, when there happy faces come up I know it's May.

I wish I could tell you I'll be frolicing with the Faeries later on. Alas, I have Mommy duties to attend to today. Still, I am going to buy flowers in honor of this wonderful day. (And also dance with my ipod later on!)

Wherever you are at, reading this, have fun today. You can:
* Buy yourself flowers
* Go to a local garden
* Bake sweet things
* Dance to music
* Read faerie themed poetry
* Make a list of wishes you like to come true
* Burn candles in colors and scents of Spring

Me and my lovely faerie friend wish you a Merry May Day. Enjoy.
