Somewhere in Time Day

Today is the day when Richard Collier (Christopher Reeve) goes back in time to find his true love Elise McKenna (Jane Seymour).

Somewhere in Time is one of my favorite films of all time. It captured my heart as a girl and still does all these years later. Here are previous posts that I wrote about Somewhere in Time: click here and here .

Knowing that Christopher and Jane fell in love while filming makes Somewhere in Time even sweeter to me. If you need a pick me up or to believe in love again, watch Somewhere in Time. You can thank me later.

The Birthday boys of September 25th

Every year, I celebrate the birthdays of my two all-time faves who share the same birthday day:

Mark Hamill and Christopher Reeve.

Mark is 74 today. He currently has two new films that came out: The Life of Chuck and The Long Walk.

Christopher Reeve would have been 73 today. He passed away in 2004 but there is a wonderful documentary about his life called Super/Man : The Christopher Reeve Story.

I'm forever grateful for Mark and Christopher who made my childhood magical and the deep influence they had on me as an adult. Love you both!

It is June 27th!

As always, on this day I honor one of my favorite movies of all time: Somewhere in Time starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour.

This date is important in the film.

Thankfully, it's still on Tubi to see for free! Here is the link

With the way the world is, we need romance and true love now more than ever. Enjoy.

And here is a bonus article that I found where Jane Seymour talks about filming Somewhere in Time and Christopher Reeve.

Somewhere in Time Day

This is the day I honor one of all time favorite movies: Somewhere in Time. On this day, in the movie, Richard (Christopher Reeve)  goes back to June 27th 1912 to meet Elise (Jane Seymour). Here is a minor spoiler alert: He already met Elise in the beginning of the movie but didn't know it.  If you have never seen Somewhere in Time,  you can watch it on Tubi tv for free. It is a must see for my fellow Romance fans out there.

This is the first meeting in 1912. Where Elise says "Is it you?"

Richard awestruck at finally seeing her says "Yes."

Richard finally finagle his way to dance with Elise.

Elise is trying to figure out who this handsome stranger is.

Richard knows someway he will fulfill his destiny with Elise.

I am forever indebted to Somewhere in Time for teaching me the power of true love as 11 year old.  Something that I still believe in today.

Happy Birthday to Mark and Chris

Happy Birthday to my two favorites born on the same day of September 25th. Mark Hamill is 72 today; and Christopher Reeve would have been 71 today.

I know I have said this before but Mark and Christopher have been an integral part of my childhood and life over all.

Today, I watched The Machine with Mark co-starring with Bert Kreishner, as his father, it was endearingly funny. Mark is going to be part of the ensemble cast of the Netflix series is The Fall of the House of Usher which comes out on October 12th. Though Christopher passed away in 2004, he left a legacy of movies that you can watch in him. I recently watched Christopher in the Bostonians from 1984. Chris doing a southern accent was a hoot to watch!

Thank you Mark and Chris for everything.

Somewhere in Time Day

Today is June 27th. I honor this date to acknowledge one of my favorite romantic films of all time: Somewhere in Time.  On this day in the film, Richard goes back in time. It is all set in motion from this beginning scene. Who is the older woman? Why is she giving Richard Collier (Christoper Reeve) a watch? Why does she say come back to me?

One of the sweetest scenes in the film is when Richard shows the watch to Elise (Jane Seymour). We know by now that Elise was the older woman at the start of the film. Richard was able to defy the "laws" of time and space to find his true love!

I found these sweet pictures from behind the scenes with Christopher and Jane. If you have followed my blog for a while, you know how much Somewhere in Time means to me on many different levels. I found out last year that Chris and Jane actually fell in love while making the film. Wow! This extra knowledge made my romantic heart swell.

I adore this candid shot of them outside of costume; I know they remained good friends until Chris' untimely passing in 2002. I adore their love became a warm friendship that lasted is wonderful.

If you have never seen Somewhere in Time, you are in for a treat. I know it's available on Tubi for free. You can also pay for it on you tube.  I have the DVD and also have a copy on my computer.  One of the life long lessons: I got from Somewhere in Time is true love is real and timeless.
