A Lost Song Found

Happy Friday, my friends.



I am tired today. I had a busy week with the show on Wednesday. Which went amazing, by the way. It was great to be actually in a really nice theater for a change. The next stop for Urban Aura is May in Chicago. We have a lot of time before then to get things settled. Then, at home we have Jake enrolled in speech and play therapy on the recommendation of one of our doctors. The teachers come here, so it's busy in my home. Jacob likes all of them, thank goodness.

Then last night, I found The song. For over 30 + years, I have been haunted by a song. I first heard it in 7th grade. I remembered the melody and a lyric. I couldn't remember the song title and who sang it. Over the years, I put the lyric in google search and came up blank. Then last night, I hit it. I put in Here I am in a lost romance..which is all I could remember.

Bam. The song came up. I went to you tube to hear it. Voila. It is the song!! It's called On my honor by Donna Summer. So I have been playing it non stop. I like it because it a sweet song with an unexpected country twang to it. Something I know my 12 year old self would have loved immediately. I always been such a romantic.

It's Showtime!

Today was our last rehearsal. Tomorrow is showtime!
The one man show, Urban Aura, which I'm directing goes up this Wednesday at the United Solo Festival..
If you are in NYC tomorrow, come on down and see the show. Tickets are still available. I use to think no one gets as nervous as actors before
the performance. I'm here to tell you, directors do too.

I know everything will go wonderfully. And we made our kickstarter goal. It was 1,500 and we raised over 1,900. Amazing!!!

I know I'm a bit late with this post. Did you happen to notice the date? It's 11/12/13!! Now that's gotta be some kind of lucky vibe day
with that combination. Before you go to bed, my friends, make a nice wish for yourself. I'm going to do that once I get Jacob down to sleep.
Why, oh why, do little ones never want to go to sleep. Sigh.

Happy Friday, my friends.

I'm feeling more like myself today. Just in time for Magical Movie Friday
at Swan of Dreamers. This time I'm not going to share a movie, but one
of my favorite Halloween inspired episodes of all time from one
of my fave shows Beauty and The Beast. I am sure I have talked about
this episode before on my blog, it bears repeating.



The episode Masques comes from the original Beauty and The Beast tv show
that aired from 1987 - 1990 starring Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman. I tried to watch the updated version on CW, but couldn't get into it. If anyone has watched the new one, please share your thoughts in the comments.

I remember when I first saw the episode. I was a sophomore in college.
My bf at the time has went home for the weekend. It was a Friday night,
I was excited about watching Beauty and The Beast. I had fell in love
with it from the beginning.

What stuck out for me the most was when Vincent meets his favorite
author and she explains the old history of Halloween to him. To me this
is one of the best descriptions of what Halloween is all about. It is
a beautiful episode full of magic, love, longing and dreams.

Jake and Showtime

Hi my fellow dreamers. Thank you for all the well
wishes for Jacob's birthday. He turned 2 last Thursday.
Yes, i can't believe too my little man is 2!!
We had an awesome time at the Zoo which he loved.

I'm also gearing up for the show I'm directing which is going
up at the United Solo Festival on Nov 13th in NYC.

We, as in the actor/writer Gabe and me, are in fundraising mode
for the show. If anyone is in the creative field reading this, you know
money is something that helps creative projects to fly.
