New Moon

Happy Tuesday, my friends. It is one of that extra special sparkly days that shine on that calendar. It is a New Moon in Taurus and also a solar eclipse. That is sizzling energy out there today.

Here is a sweet ritual to do today. Get yourself a green candle. If you can't find a green candle, how about a chocolate brown or a sun yellow candle. Now decorate it with glitter or lay a flower near it. (Please don't let it get burned!) Say a prayer or favorite affirmations. Then light the candle. Sit and look at your lovely candle. I like to imagine when I light my candles, that the energy of it is shooting out into the Universe. Glowing like a bright beacon to attract the energy behind whatever the prayer, wish or affirmation is. Know that whatever you called for, will come to you in Divine Timing.

Happy Birthday Will

Saucy, witty, wicked, dangerous, romantic, bloodthirsty, vengeful, dreamy, triumphant.

There is one man who works embodies all of these qualities and more. William Shakespeare. His birthday is today; 450 years of Shakespeare has left a deep mark over the centuries.

I like to think he would be delighted to know how much people still adore him.

Like my earlier post on poetry, the best way to get into Shakespeare is to read him out loud. It may take some time, before you know it you'll get into his world. Of course, seeing live performances or film adaptations is another way for his plays to come alive. One of the best recommendations I have heard is to read his Sonnets first. His Sonnets echo all the plots that pop up in his plays. I have not only read and performed Shakespeare's sonnets but I have used it as meditation pieces well. His words help to ground and center me.

Here is one of my favorite Sonnets by William.

#43.

When most I wink, then do mine eyes best see,
For all the day they view things unrespected;
But when I sleep, in dreams they look on thee,
And darkly bright, are bright in dark directed.
Then thou, whose shadow shadows doth make bright,
How would thy shadow's form form happy show
To the clear day with thy much clearer light,
When to unseeing eyes thy shade shines so!
How would, I say, mine eyes be blessed made
By looking on thee in the living day,
When in dead night thy fair imperfect shade
Through heavy sleep on sightless eyes doth stay!
All days are nights to see till I see thee,
And nights bright days when dreams do show thee me.

Happy Earth Day

Happy Tuesday, my friends. I got a chance to go out with my boys and soak in the sunshine on this Earth Day. This day is a great reminder for ourselves that we are connected to the world. Whatever happens to Mama Earth, we will share the same fate. Recycling, reusing, reducing is all important things to do daily .Earth Day goes deeper for me. It is a day to remember we are kin to all the animals, flowers, trees, sky and clouds. We are connected in an ever linking chain. Doesn't matter if you live in the city or country. Nature is all around us.

* Get to know all the local wildflowers and trees near you. Research their names. Take note of which flowers or trees bloom first where you live. Which ones are your favorites?
* What animals are around you? You may just think it's just a few birds or squirrels. I'm sure there is a lot more than that. Really look around to see what kind of animals are popping up around your home.

I live in The Bronx. Where I am, you may be surprise to know, is full of animals. We have geese, ducks, squirrels, sparrows, red robins, blue birds, skunks, eagles, seagulls, groundhogs, rabbits. As one of my neighbors said to me the other day, it's a zoo around here. Just today, I saw the first three or four dandelions peeking out from the ground. We have wild apple trees here. The apple blossoms are starting to sprout and go pink. Soon, there fragrant scent will be delighting me. I do love when the apple blossoms come.

I feel what causes neglect from people about the Earth, they are not connected to Nature. Knowing the wildlife and plantlife where we live locally makes us feel one with the land. I know it does for me. Something, I want to pass on to Jacob.

I love to hear in the comments all the animals and plants that you love in your area. Happy Earth Day.

Phryne Fisher Friday

Happy Friday, my fellow dreamers. It's Friday, woo hoo. A perfect day to talk with you all about one of my favorite new shows.

It is the Phryne Fisher Mysteries on Netflix. It's a wonderful mystery series from Australia based on the books of the same name by Kerry Greenwood. Phryne (pronounced Fry-knee, to rhyme with briny) is rich, smart, elegant and witty. Even when she is covered with blood, she still manages to look stylish. The self described Lady Detective is a treat to watch. I haven't read the books, if the series is close to the books then they must be wonderful.

Essie Davis as Phryne is marvelous. I'm currently toward the end of season 1. Hoping Netflix will pick up season 2! She also has a close relationship with married Detective Inspector Jack Robinson played by the awesomely cute Nathan Page. They hint that he is not quite happy at home. This is set in the 1920's, I have no idea whether the two will get together. It's still fun to watch them glow on screen together.

Phryne is aided by the pretty and sweet Dot; along with Constable Collins who works under DI Robinson. There is now a sweet romance brewing between Dot and Constable Collins, as well.

Oh and the clothes!!

I'm loving this whole outfit.

This has to be one of my favorite's of Phryne.

Now, have I enticed you my friends. I do hope you give The Phryne Fisher Mysteries a go. You will adore the show like I have. Have a wonderful Friday.

Full Moon Beauty

Hello, my fellow dreamers.

I have to admit last night, I was feeling a bit restless. How about any of you? Perhaps it was a long day or the Full Moon Energy playing with me?Hmm...

It is the Full Moon in Libra and also a lunar eclipse! Can you say double pow pow. For all my sun and moon sign Libras, this is your special moon. For the rest of us,
we can glide in the airy energy of Libra.
Libra is ruled by Venus. Beauty, harmony, balance, love may be running in your head and in your life in some way. I feel for this Eclipse it's all about uncovering what is hidden. My mom has a great saying that I always share with others. Never lie to yourself. Being completely honest with yourself makes life easier. Something that I have found. So what are you hiding in the corners of your mind? Tonight, light a blue or white candle. Take deep breathes and say out loud to yourself truths you need to come clean on.

Since Libra is about beauty in all forms, Here is a meditation I like to do to give me extra sparkle. I'm going to make you all laugh, I like to do this mediation especially on the train. Keeps me centered and in my own energy.

Sit or stand. Close your eyes. Imagine from the ceiling/roof/sky a great shower of energy is coming down on you. I like to imagine it in colors of the rainbow. You can pick whatever color you fancy. The energy coming from above washes over you and takes away all that old energy you have keeping on you. Visualize the energy from your body melting or running down to the floor. The energy from you is going back to mama earth to be converted into golden energy for the planet. You can visualize this shower of energy as long as you need until you feel lighter or calmer. When you are ready, open your eyes.

Well, I have rambled enough, my friends. I'm wishing you all a lovely Full Moon.

Poetry Month!

Happy Thursday, my friends. I am a few days behind, I finally remembered it's poetry month! Woo hoo. If you had to suffer through learning poetry through uninspired teachers, my apologies. My deep apology. Poetry can be so many things: beautiful, thoughtful, dangerous, sexy, maddening, mind altering.

I find the best way to get back into reading poetry is as follows:

1) Find some poems you actually liked from school.
2) Look up the author and find more of their other poems.
3) Then pick a few you feel connected to. You can have as few as 3 and up to 15 poems.
4) Find a nice place you can be alone: your home or out in nature.
5) Read the poems out loud. Yes, out loud. For me, there is something about hearing poetry spoken out loud that makes the words come alive even more. Try it and see.

I have always written poetry for my own pleasure. With my active Jacob, I haven't found the time to sit down and write new poetry. I like to share with you all a poem I wrote about Jacob about a year ago. I hope you enjoy. I'll pop in through the month with more poems I have written and favorites ones from famous poets. Enjoy

It feels like you have been here
Forever
Can it only be 17 months
That you have been here
I have loved wildly, deeply,
Passionately, madly
Never have I loved with
No words to describe
how I feel
You
My piece of flesh and heart
My soul
My sky and sun
My Son.

Powerful Tuesday

Happy Tuesday, my friends.

Do you think Tuesdays are just a regular day of the week? Another day to get through till Friday. Oh, no my friends. Tuesdays is a day packed full of power, energy and passion.

Tuesday was named after the Norse god Tyr. The Romans named the day after their god Mars which is why Tuesday is called Martedi in Italian and Mardi in French.

How does this info help you, my dreamy friends?

Have to deal with something or someone challenging? Make an appointment on a Tuesday. Yes, align yourself with that warrior energy that the day was named after. Wear shades of red or black on your clothes too to give you that boost of energy. Warriors have fear all the time, they still go into battle.

Need a boost of romance in your life. Forget the little black dress..put on the little red dress.
Or if that is too much for you, a bit of red lipstick makes me feel glam.
Need to feel more self love or rev up your personal energy buy yourself red roses and burn a lovely red candle.

For some inner Tuesday energy, cook, bake or eat something with garlic, carrots, ginger, chillies. (Of course, not all in the same dish that may be overwhelming.)

Each day of the week is packed full of lovely energy for us to use. Want to do more research on your own. Look up the days of the week. Who or what the day was named after? From there, you can see the attributes of the days from it's namesake.

I'm wishing you all a wonderful Tuesday.
