Today is the birthday of one of my recent favorite in the past years: Montgomery Clift.
He was to me one of the most beautiful men of the silver screen.
Even after his car accident, he still remained beautiful to me.
I only wish more people remembered him. Matt Bomer of Magic Mike is doing a biopic on Monty on HBO. Hopefully, that will remind people of this awesome actor. If you never seen any of his films you can start with A Place in The Sun starring Monty and Elizabeth Taylor. The two did three films together and were close friends.
Elizabeth said Monty inspired her to become a better actor while working with him on A Place in the Sun. I love this scene from A Place in The Sun. Shows there amazing chemistry.
Here are a few of his films that are my faves:
The Heiress (1949) with Olivia de Havilland
A Place in the Sun (1950) with Elizabeth Taylor
From Here to Eternity (1953)
Terminal Station/Indiscrections of an American Wife (1953) with Jennifer Jones
Suddenly, Last Summer (1959) with Elizabeth Taylor and Katherine Hepburn
The Misfits (1961) with Marilyn Monroe
Happy Birthday, Montgomery. Thank you for all the great films and performances you have left behind. Thank you for being a constant source of acting inspiration for me.
