These are the days that Reindeer love.....

These are the days that Reindeer love
And pranks the Northern Star -
This is the Sun's Objective,
And Finland of the Year.
- Emily Dickinson

It is the Winter Solstice, my friends. The shortest day of the year.
Happy Winter and Yule, for those who celebrate. Finally, the sun will return to us a bit longer every day. By the time my birthday rolls around in late January, the sun sets around six. The light is returning.

How am I celebrating Winter's entrance. I have a lone bright sunshiny yellow candle burning on my altar.

For today, you can light a yellow or orange candle. Or any color or a fragrant candle that reminds you of the sun. Listen to songs about the sun or sunshine. Even rock the colors of daylight in your wardrobe as you go shopping or baking today.

Winter is a lovely season. So celebrate it in whatever way that makes your heart sing.

Sending you a sunny wave for Winter's day.

December Full Moon

Ice and Air mingle on our last Full Moon in 2013. Winter Solstice is only a few days away. Here in NYC, we already have felt Lady Winter's kiss many times. Now with this full moon the winding days of Autumn with Winter soars into with the Gemini energy of this Full Moon. Gemini energy for me is lively, inquisitive, full of ideas and can move quickly. Fresh winds propel us to Winter's Debut.

All my Sun and Moon Gemini babies out there, this is your special full Moon. So live it up. For the rest of us, take time out to carve out quiet for yourself. Get a notebook, a trusty journal, record your own voice and get out all your madcap ideas, strategies and dreams you want to manifest for 2014. Do some inner holiday gift giving to yourself tonight.

As always, the energy of the Full Moon lasts three days. The day before the full moon, the day of the full moon and the day after. You have three days to dance, dream and dive into this quicksilver Full Moon energy.

On this last full moon, I happy to announce I'm offering e-mail reading using the Magical Unicorns oracle deck. Click on the Unicorn for more information. This is a beautiful deck created by Doreen Virtue. It has a sweet and gentle energy that is always delivers honest and uplifting readings. As much I enjoy doing readings with Tarot cards, I'm feeling the Unicorn energy of this deck call to me to do readings.

Have a wonderful Full Moon, my friends. Don't forget the Winter Solstice is this Saturday.

Happy Friday the 13th

Woo hoo, it's Friday. If you are new to Swan of Dreamers, let me share that I consider Friday the 13th a lucky day!

You should too.  Here are 3 simple rules to increase your luck.

1) Believe that you are lucky. If you always moan about being unlucky, Banish that from your mind.  Say to yourself "I am lucky." "Good Fortune always smiles down on me." and my personal favorite: "I am favorite child of Good Fortune."

2) What are your favorite colors. Red? Blue? Yellow? Purple? Whatever it is, wear them on a day you want to feel lucky.

3) Imagine being Lucky. Imagine fun lucky things happening to you every day. For example, getting your favorite parking spot, winning money from a scratch off, people sending you checks in the mail for no reason, winning a trip or being given gift certificates to your favorite store.

Now, go out there and make it a great and lucky day for yourself. If you have any tips how to feel more lucky, share in the comment section. I love to learn new ones.

Riding With Unicorns

By Day ...

By Night...

By sunshine...

By moonlight...

Unicorns are there.

I've like many others, have always been enchanted by Unicorns since I was little. Now, I have been feeling them call to me again in a deeper way. They are calling me to let go of my old defenses, follow a different path with my intuition and travel to unknown shores. When you hear the call of the Unicorn, you have to follow them. I have found Unicorns to be wise and kind old friends. They will never lead you astray.

White Shores

I was really shaken up over the weekend with the unexpected death of Paul Walker. I'm not sure why. I only saw two of the Fast and the Furious series. He did play the bad guy in one of my favorite 90's films: She's All That. Something about his passing touched me. Maybe because he was only 40, the way he passed or that he left a daughter behind. It made me think deeply about living for the day. You can prepare for tomorrow; also, you have to savor the day, the moment right now.

Now, the grand old statesman, Nelson Mandela, died today at 95. He lived a long life. Used his own fight for freedom, dignity and human rights to inspire not only people in South Africa, but the whole world. Though he was sick for a while, his passing wasn't a shock, still his death leaves me pondering too.

Death comes for us all in time. On a misty Friday as I write this, I feel the weight of those who have passed. I don't fear death as I use to because I know I have loved ones waiting for me when my time comes. Still, sometimes I wonder about those who leave us.

I like to think right now as Nelson Mandela is being reunited with his loved ones on the other side. Paul Walker is standing there with a respectful nod to Nelson Mandela. Welcoming him home. Saying it's amazing here.Still, I miss those who are back with the living. And Mandela smiles and responds we will see them all here someday.

Someday.

I'm reminded of what Gandalf says to Pippin in Lord of The Rings.

“PIPPIN: I didn't think it would end this way.

GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.

PIPPIN: What? Gandalf? See what?

GANDALF: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.

PIPPIN: Well, that isn't so bad.

GANDALF: No. No, it isn't.”

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Remember live, my friends.
