Mae West

The past couple of years I've been fascinated by Mae West.
I admire the fact she wrote her own plays and movies.
She didn't become a movie star until she was 40!
Those clothes and jewels. She shines like a star.
Even in her last film "Sextette" at 85, she insisted on playing
the woman every man desires.

And those lines! My acting teacher, Hope, always said it's not
the words, but the feeling behind the words. Mae knew
how to make her words sizzle with ease.

If you have Netflix, She Done Him Wrong is available
to watch. It's one of my favorites of Mae.

I didn't realize she was forty when she became a film star. She was a very impressive woman! Please send me your address Shell as I have something to send you-it is a baby present but I am very slow at these things! Your address may be the same as before but I don't want to risk being wrong! x

Wow... I didn't know that either, that she hadn't reached "stardom" until 40! This inspires us late bloomers. ;o) I love Mae's attitude and style! This was fun, Shell. We're just back from our trip the US. Lovely to catch up here with you. ((HUGS))
