Once in a Blue Moon on a New Year's Eve

Fluffy snowflakes are flying by my
window. The Bronx is transformed into
a world of white today.

I wish I could do a year in review.
I have grown in ways I never thought
possible.

The truth is the year's end is sad for me.
Everything I have done and all that changed
me is directly due to my Sean. His
death woke me up in deep ways.

2009 closes and leaves forever with my friend.

So it has been a bittersweet year for me.
2010 beckons me now. All I can do is take
the lessons learned and Sean's love into
this new year and new decade.

Now for the sweet. This is the second
Full Moon in December. A Blue Moon
on New Year's Eve. The moon is
in the sign of Cancer. This is
a night where the impossible can
be possible.

Tonight celebrate. Make merry. Keep
your lists, wishes, intentions, and
dreams for 2010 in you heart and actions
all year round.

I wish for all of you a happy, healthy,
prosperous and creative 2010.

A New Day

I had a wonderful Christmas. I hope all
of you had a great holiday.

It is chilly here in the big apple.
More like the frozen apple.

The wind is whipping. I even saw a couple
of Penguins moving in next door to me.

Are all of you ready for 2010? I am.
I already starting to make plans now
for 2010.

Remember, you don't have to wait for
January 1st to start planning. Do it
today. If you don't feel like planning
now or even when the 1st come. Then
do it when you ready.

Resolutions are wonderful. It is by
the doing of what we wish to happen
daily that we make real change in
our lives.

Every day can be a fresh start.
A New Year can happen any day
you wish it to be.

Dreamthought #23

This is a long dreamthought for all of you.
I received this from my new friend R. through
his prosperity class. I say this every morning.
And through out the day when my mind needs
a positive boost.

I wrote this in all caps. Felt right to me.
This is from Louise L. Hay's book Letters to Louise:
The Answers are Within You. These are Louise's words.

I ALLOW MY INCOME TO CONSTANTLY EXPAND,
NO MATTER WHAT THE NEWSPAPERS AND ECONOMISTS
SAY. I MOVE BEYOND MY PRESENT INCOME,
AND I GO BEYOND THE ECONOMIC FORECASTS.
I AVOID LISTENING TO PEOPLE OUT THERE
TELLING ME HOW FAR I CAN GO OR WHAT I
CAN DO. I EASILY GO BEYOND MY PARENTS'
INCOME LEVEL. MY CONSCIOUSNESS OF
FINANCES IS CONSTANTLY EXPANDING AND
TAKING IN NEW IDEAS-NEW WAYS
TO LIVE, DEEPLY, RICHLY, COMFORTABLY,
AND BEAUTIFULLY. MY TALENTS AND ABILITIES
ARE MORE THAN GOOD ENOUGH, AND IT IS
DEEPLY PLEASURABLE FOR ME TO SHARE THEM
WITH THE WORLD. I GO BEYOND ANY FEELINGS
THAT I DO NOT DESERVE, AND I MOVE INTO
ACCEPTANCE OF A WHOLE NEW LEVEL OF
FINANCIAL SECURITY.

P.S. Saying the affirmation looking at yourself
in the mirror gives it an extra boost.

Winter Solstice

I had what I call a walkabout today in honor
of the Winter Solstice. To honor the
First Day of Winter which has the shortest day
and the longest night. From this day on,
the light will stay with us each day
a little longer.

My digital camera is broken. I wish I can
share with you how beautiful the day is here.
Blue sky with clouds sailing. The wind
whistling. I bundled up and made my
way to my special grove of trees.

Along the way I said hello to the Pine Trees.
I picked some pine cones and needles.
Of course, asking before I took.

Trudged through the snow with my spirits now
soaring. I went over to my favorite trees.
Some cut down by storms. A few only had
their stumps left. I could see in one
of the trees, branches and buds beginning
to grow.

People forget that there is still
growth in Winter. I always get excited
when Winter comes: Christmas, New Year
and my Birthday right around the corner.

I do hope wherever you are, take a moment
or two to celebrate or think about Winter's
arrival in your life. It is to me a
beautiful season.

Waiting for The Snow

The local weather people kept saying we are going
to get hit by a lot of snow. It's finally starting.
The way it looks, I may not get the snow I was
hoping for.

I know people really hate snow. Me, I love it!
There is something beautiful about snow. The
way it blankets the city. Makes everything sparkle
more.

I am extremely happy to be home. Snug in my beloved
sky blue chair and able to gaze out my window.
Best of all I don't have any place i must to go,
people to meet, and appointments to keep.

A day where I can catch up on personal projects,
dream and plan, of course, enjoy some spiked
egg nog.

Have a beautiful weekend everyone.

Holiday Love

Happy Thursday. Thank you all for sharing
what you dislike about the Holidays. It
was a blast reading your comments and knowing
it's not just me who feels like this.

Today, I will share what I love about
The Holiday season.

Here is a picture of me with Santa.
I am six years old here.(The picture
is a bit faded and scratched.)

Anyway, on to my list:

1) Eggnog. As soon as I see
eggnog in the stores. I am happy.
It's my favorite drink of the season.
(My apologies to the lactose intolerant.)

2) Reindeer. After I figured out
Santa doesn't exist, I was delighted
to find out Reindeer are real!!
Who cares if they don't fly. They
are really cool animals.

3) Holiday Lights and decorations.
I love to see them in homes,
windows, department stores, lobby's,
etc. Makes me smile all the time.
There is a famous house about
five minutes away from me that
has a big production of lights and
decorations. Simply fab.

4) Gifts. I ,of course, enjoy receiving
gifts. I do love giving gifts. I have
a knack for getting people exactly
what they want. Seeing their faces
light up is priceless. My secret is
to listen to people through out the
year on what they wish they had or love.
Then you know exactly what they want.

5) Rebirth and Redemption. This time
of year is perfect to make amends
for your past. Say sorry to those you have
hurt or even to yourself. Right old wrongs.
Give yourself a fresh new life.
Let go of your past. Rebuild and reawaken
discarded dreams.

Of course, spending time with beloved
family and friends is sweet right now.
Once again, please share your thoughts
on what you love about the Holidays. I
do enjoy reading all your comments.

A bit of holiday bashing

Happy Monday. I'm feeling impish
today. Here is my list of things
that get on my nerves about the holidays.
If I take a swipe at something you love,
just know this is my opinion.

Here is Mabel showing her most displeased
look to join in on the bashing.

1) Barrage of Christmas music in stores.
I love Holiday music. Not when it's blasted
to impel me to shop more and not actually
feel the spirit of the songs.

2) Nutcrackers. They are scary to me with
those humongous teeth.

3) Please can't we have at least five years
without another film or television
adaptation of Scrooge!

4) How mean, pushy and aggressive people get
shopping this time of year. Seriously, there
bad vibes makes the stores reek with negativity.

5) Tourists. I love people want to come to
NYC. Do you how many times I have been pushed,
prodded and almost run over by a whole
group of Tourists!!! Please enjoy the city,
be aware of other people when your walking
around.

Wow. I feel better now sharing that.
Now, don't be shy, share in the bashing.
I will do a follow up about things I
love about the holidays, too.

Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day

I had to wait two months, I finally got
my copy of Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day
from my local library.I missed it when it
came out in the movies last year. It is a
delightful movie. Full of comedy, romance, fun.

Frances McDormand plays Guinevere Pettigrew,
a London governess who has a habit of being
too outspoken though she has a good heart.
She is tossed out of her latest job. A series
of events leads Miss Pettigrew to meet the
the glam Delysia LaFosse (Amy Adams); and,
gets swept up into Delysia's life finding
out that one day can change a life forever.

Oh, the clothes, the furniture and the music.
I love 40's music and fashions!!

If you need a pick me up or want to unplug
from the holiday merry go around. Watch
Miss Pettigrew lives for a Day. You will
be enchanted, trust me.

For all you Pushing Daisies fan, Lee Pace
is in it too! Truly, it's stock full of great
actors. Frances and Amy play their parts to
perfection.

Of course, here is a trailer to whet the
appetites. This is the kind of movie
I like to do. Uplifting and full of fun.

He's leaving on a jet plane....

I'm feeling sad tonight. My dearest
friend Neo is leaving for L.A. in
a week. He won't be back till Summer.

I know it's not forever. Sometimes
it's hard to say goodbye even if
it's for a little while.

I call my friend Neo because he
is amazing person. He has
been my protector, encourager
and believing mirror.

This is for My Neo.

Back to Business

Happy Monday, everyone. Thanks for the love on
the new banner. I appreciate it.

This year I started taking seriously the idea
of creating my own jobs from my natural talents.
If I can't find a job, then I create my own job.
We all have gifts that make us unique.

With 2010, weeks away. I encourage you to start
today. Yes, today. Why wait for January 1st.
Make a list of a what you really love to do.
That your passionate about. No kinda like,
lukewarm jobs, please!

As I have gained more confidence, I have
attracted more jobs my way in my acting,
teaching acting and tarot card reading.
Which has retaught me a lot of what
I think reflects in my world.

This is what I have learned this year.

1) Don't fake what you can do. Tell people
exactly what you can do and what you don't
do. Cuts down on confusion later on.

2) If your starting out, price your
services at what you feel comfortable at.
When your ready to up your rates,
practice saying your rate out loud until
you can do it without blinking.
(This does work, trust me.)

3) If you get a vibe that a prospective
client or project is flaky, trust your
feelings. Get out gracefully.

4)Keep a list of all your clients. Even
after the initial job is done, stay in
contact. Let people know you are still
out there.

5) Mute your survival and desperate feelings
for your work. Project a positive and
confident image for yourself.

6) This is your business. This is your career.
This is your life! Have it reflect who you
really are.

Was 2009 not that great for you? Well
2010 is right around the corner. Do
the seed work today, so your 2010 can
bloom beautifully.

Celebrate the Light

'Must be captivated by the light. Always the light. Always."
Christopher Plummer from The Lake House.

It's that time of the year. Where the mad dash for presents,
parties and decorating homes gets turned up to the max.
Before you lose yourself in the madness, go back to the
light.

All the holidays in this season celebrate light in one
form or another. Use this as a guide to get back to
your center and stay grounded.

Here are some ways to celebrate the season and
yourself with light.

1) Savor the sunrise or the sunset. Take time
to watch the sun's movements and how it makes
you feel

2) Buy inexpensive tea light candles. After
sunset, light a candle. You can rub a nice
oil on it as well. I like to use rose oil.
Put it somewhere you can see it. Say a prayer,
share something you thankful or happy
about while you the candle burns.

3) Decorate your bedroom or other parts
of your house with Christmas or what I like
to call faerie lights. Turn them on and
see how your rooms glow.

4) Visualize yourself being in your
favorite sunny place for five minutes.
Feel the sun on your skin, the scents in
the air and the sounds around you.

5) Track the light growing. When the Winter Solstice
comes on Dec 21st it heralds winter's beginning.
Sunlight returns back to us a little bit every
day. Making our days longer again.

I hope these tips can help keep you for a few
moments grounded, present and serene during
the holidays.

Long Night Moon

Angel

Tonight is the Full Moon in Gemini.
All you Geminis out there:This is your moon!

Even if your not a Gemini you can still
take advantage of the lovely energy of
this moon. Since Gemini is all under
the element of air, here are some
suggestions of what to do.

You can use this moon to make lists
of things you want for 2010, call up
old friends to see how they are, listen
to music that makes you feel happy
and strong, write down all those ideas
you have swimming in your head or have a
spontaneous night out.

This Full Moon has many names as all the
moons have. I like the name Long Night
Moon.

This is a heads up. We have a blue moon
this year. Which means two full moons in
the same month. On Dec 31st is the next
full moon. A cool way to end the year.
