Your True Voice

Our family and friends from when we are little to being grown women and men share their advice, thoughts and ideas on life. It can be a great thing. There comes a time when you have to look through all you have heard and taken in. Make choices on what rings true for you. I feel the voice you need to hear when you starting a new path in your life, want to take a calculated risk or just want to shake things up is your true voice. Not the voices from relatives and friends who admonish you to play it safe, just be content with what you have, be grateful and don't reach too far and, give up on your long held dreams.

How do you find your true voice? You get quiet. Turn of the cd, the tv, the mp3 player, your computer and put down your book. Just be. Maybe write in your journal, paint, sing, pray or whatever you can do to get you into a peaceful state. Listen and you'll hear your real voice speaking to you.

As my beloved Yoda would say: "When you are calm and at peace, you will know." So will you, my friends.

As you do your daily play and work on your dreams and plans, let your true voice guide you on what your next step is to be.

Love this post. As you know I have been searching for that voice. It's there, I've heard it, i must learn to follow it and stay true to myself. I find my voice when I'm alone on foot with my camera.
I always love visiting you to hear the wise words of a fellow dreamer.

Lovely inspiration here today, Shell... so very true. To be still and know... Just getting still and quiet is a great way to get to the source. :o) Happy Day!

This is a lovely post. I also realize that when I turn off the TV, the music, and drown out the noise of life, my voice connects with my ultimate guide, the Holy Spirit. When I feel like a failure, I remember that as Job said, "He knows the way that I take," and as David reminded us, "the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord."

I love your blog. And this post was inspiring as usual.

Have a wonderful day.

you are so right. Dreams do not come true by sitting on the couch, you have to take some sort of risk.

I always think I would rather live with the regret of trying and failing then not having tried at all.

I always find that stepping back and really thinking about what I want guides me to truth, as does prayer.

Sometimes the quietest sounds reach us most clearly.

Yoda is a wise man. And it's so true. If you go about your life and not worry about the answer or the sign... it'll come to you. I'm trying everyday. I hope you are too.
