Jake and Jet

Happy Monday, my friends. Hope you had a great weekend. I realize I haven't shared any new pictures of Jacob and our cat, Jet. This past June, Jake had his first moving up ceremony for preschool. He's now starting his second year of Preschool in September. He started school at 3 years old. In NYC, there is a big push for all kids to go to preschool here. Not sure how it is in other states.

This is from Easter weekend at the Carousel in Bryant Park. If you ever in NYC with little ones, go to this French themed carousel in Bryant Park on 42nd Street. It's really nice inexpensive treat for all.

This is two months later at the 150th anniversary of the New York City Firefighters. I Select Firehouses were open to the public. The one near us had an open house. Jake loves Firetrucks, hence we went. I know I shared pictures before on Mother's Day. Here are some more. Here he is as Spiderman Firefighter Jacob.

Here is Jet taking a nap on my messy little dresser. She is quite comfortable as you can see.

Introducing Miss Jet Beauty

My hubby, Sean, finally got us a cat!! I adore cats. I should add I like animals in general. They like me, as well. I'm not saying I'm a Doctor Doolittle but animals always respond nicely to me. Anyway, we have this little miss for about month. There is something for me having a cat makes a family complete. Jake adores her as well. This is the first time I have ever had a black cat. I think Mabel, my previous cat who is gone but not forgotten, would approve of her.

If you are considering getting a cat, please get a black cat. Because of the unfair stigma of them being unlucky, people tend to not adopt them as readily.

Have a Catastic day, my friends.

Welcome December...

If she had been the Mistletoe
And I had been the Rose -
How gay upon your table
My velvet life to close -
Since I am of the Druid,
And she is of the dew -
I'll deck Tradition's buttonhole -
And send the Rose to you.

Goodbye Mabel

Almost three weeks ago, I said goodbye
to my beloved Mabel. She lived a full sixteen years.
My old friend's age caught up with her.

I cried as the vet told what I already knew.
I had to let her go. I stayed with her, as she was put to sleep.

Mabel was with me through my single days to my
pregnancy to see me get married and become a mom.
She got to know Jacob who she protected so fiercely
when I pregnant.

There at times I feel her spirit with me.
Goodbye, my sweet Mabel. We will meet again.

Do Cats Dream?

Here is my Mabel sleeping. Now the eternal question: Do Cats Dream? I'm sure they do. I know Mabel is dreaming of unlimited cans of her favorite iams flavors, crunch treats and fresh cat nip.
