Oscar Dreams

source of Mo'Nique pic

I've been watching the Oscars since
I was 11! I slogged through long
boring show and good ones too. I enjoyed
last night since especially I thought
I wouldn't be a able to see it with
all the drama between Cablevision and ABC
that had channel 7 off the air for almost
a day.

Anyhoo..
Did your favorites win? I am way behind
in my movie watching, so my cheering was
for people I've always liked.

I was happy to see Mo'Nique win.
I love that her dress and magnolia
she wore in her hair was a tribute
to Hattie McDaniel who was the first
African American to win an Oscar in 1939.
And Jeff Bridges, who I always thought
is a good actor who never got enough
play as he should. Got his gold, finally.
Yipee for Sandra Bullock. Who is
a fave for mine.

Even if you don't win the Oscar,
you still win. You get to have front
row seats to one of the biggest parties
in the world and be recognized for
your work.

I have an Oscar Dream which I'm sure
millions of actors share. I like to
believe I will get there. A beautiful
dream whatever it is, can be a beacon
of hope and encouragement especially
when things don't feel good.

Keep your Dream or Dreams alive
whatever they may be. You never
know when, how or where they
will come true.

I am behind on my movie watching too ~ I have not seen any of the movies that were nominated. Of course some of them don't make it to a small town like ours to begin with.
That shade of blue on Mo'Nique is stunning. Love the magnolias. I love seeing the gowns the stars wear ~ sometimes that is the best part of the show. Loved seeing Lauren Bacall ~ I always thought she was a class act.
Hugs))
Yes, always, always keep your dreams alive!!

my faves were j. bridges- he's a great actor... my mom met him and his brother years ago and she said they were so personable... i was able to take pics of them and at the time i had no idea the talent he had... i am glad a female director won as well as monique!...times are a changing as they say...all for the good!

I didn't get to watch them this year though I did watch the Baftas. I was amazed that Kathryn Bigelow was the first woman to win best director! Well done her I say!

I woke up just in time to see Mo get her award. I thought that Precious would have gotten more awards. I look forward to seeing Hurt Locker though. I hope I get to see you get an Oscar one day. It can happen.

I thought Mo'Nique looked lovely - but after hearing how rude and unpleasant she is in real life, LOL, I don't care if she won or not.

I was very happy for all the major winners ... even though it's REALLY time for Meryl Streep to actually WIN rather than only be nominated. I mean, SIXTEEN nominations? Come on, now!

SO glad Avatar didn't win best picture, as I thought it was an absolutely gorgeous film and amazing example of CGI genius about NOTHING. No story - no message beyond the obvious. Glad Hurt Locker won.

I never cared about an Oscar - but I always wanted to win a Tony...or two.
