Dear Michael

Today was my niece's graduation from High School. Me, Jazz and my Twin were out celebrating when a guy with his two kids came up to us. Told us Michael Jackson is dead. We were like what? We couldn't believe it. He showed us a text from his friend telling him about Michael and Farrah. Two talented souls gone on the same day.

Now, I'm home. About to go to bed. I'm sitting here still stunned. Michael Jackson is gone.

When I was little girl, I wanted to marry Michael Jackson. I loved him with his beautiful brown skin, full black nose and beautiful voice. Though he changed the way he looked over the years and his life at times got crazy, there was always the music. All that lovely, funky, soulful and heartfelt music.

You may be gone, Michael. I'm thankful for all the music and memories you have given to all of us. You will live in on in your so many songs: Got To Be There, ABC, Don't Stop Till You Get Enough, Beat it, Lady of my life, She's out of My Life, Human Nature, Wanna be Startin' Something, Bad, Liberian Girl, Man in The Mirror, Dirty Diana, Do you Remember The Time, Butterflies, Break of Dawn.

I wish I could express more on how I feel. All I can say is I will miss you.

I wanted to marry him too!!! Seriously. I sent him fan letters scented with Avon "Rain" perfume. I had his posters on my walls. And I listened to "Off the Wall" so much, I am surprised that it did not warp. I will miss him...but I am thankful that we had him while we did (and that his music will last forever).

Oh Yes he was going to be my husband when I was 13!
His music became better and better. He was the very best entertainer and musical genius of our time.
I hurt deeply from the news of his untimely passing.Thankyou Shell.

This is amazing. I still can't wrap my brain around the news. How can this be?

I don't even really know how to feel. I'm shocked more than anything else, it's going to take a while for this to sink in. I'd heard about Farrah and about Ed McMahon. I understood the both of them, they were sick for some time. But this, this is something completely different.

I will surely miss him but I am so very grateful for the musical legacy he left behind.

Love you, sweetheart.

Did we all want to marry him?

I was stunned early this morning when I heard. It was hard to continue working. It still is.

Also stunned when I heard last night. He will go down in entertainment history as one of the icons - like Elvis, Judy, Frank, and Barbra - who crossed audience boundaries and found acceptance from all music fans, no matter their favored music genre.

I can still remember watching those early MTV videos and being awed by his talent.

And that's what I'll remember.

I will tell u this... I live out in the city where he passed.. Its been said on the news that he has had been in ill health for sometime... He had been on demmerol for some time ever since that Pepsi commercial.. remember that? he apparently had a lot of pain due to the fire... they said that if the autopsy showed that drug in him it most likely was respiratory arrest not cardiac....

Hi Shell,

I am still in shock.
I was out of town when I found out...without a tv or radio. But when I found out I thought it was a cruel joke.

What? dead? like for real or for a movie.... I still can't believe it.

Aside from all the chaos and controversy that surrounding him, he was a highly brilliant artist.
WOW! all those beautiful songs....some to groove to, and some to inspire and awaken the heart....I love Man in the Mirror and Human Nature.

Alma
still in shock.
