Things to do on a Wintry day

It's in the teen digits in The Bronx! It's so cold, I looked out my window and saw Polar Bears and Penguins waving to me. I had all these great plans for the today. Alas, even this Winter baby said I'm staying in today. I know Winter can be a challenging season for a lot of people. Here is my list of things to do on a wintry day.

1) Sit somewhere to get sunlight.

2) Pick up a long discarded project to finish: half knitted sweater, a neglected painting, editing a short story you wrote, etc.

3) Write a dream list of things you want to do before a certain age or year: places you want to go, things you want to see, etc

4) Baking cakes, breads, pastries or whatever else you want to bake always makes your place toasty warm and smells good.

5) Watch your DVD's of your favorite tv series: do four episodes in a row; or, watch a DVD of your favorite movie you haven't seen in ages.

6) Listen to music. Just listen without doing anything else! Let yourself be taken away.

7) Go through some of your old magazines. Keep your favorite issues and give away the rest via Freecyle.

8) Get a book and curl up to read with hot chocolate or apple cinnamon tea (I love this tea)

9) Now, you share with me a tip to do a Wintry day. I love to hear them.

Sweet dreams to you all.

great list! i'd have to say "nest". that's what i'm up to with a little painting thrown in. the boys' room was a disaster and little little it's becoming apparent that they do have a floor and storage! also decorating/arranging the studio and other spots in the house.

Build a fort! Honestly, when was the last time you build a blanket and pillow fort to read by flashlight in? Tee hee!

Great list! Stay toasty!:)

I like your list. I do some of these things too-especially the watching tv series, films and reading books and magazines. I stayed at my sister in law's house last night. It is a lovely house and much bigger than our tiny flat. However-it was cold! I am really grateful for this little flat with its pretend log fire! I had to curl up under a blanket with her two cats who were also trying to keep warm!

Wear 4 layers of nightgowns, like from little house in the prairie, sip hot chocolate in bed, and watch the bestest movies ever while sketching. And then cuddle with someone I like :) :) So fun...

I really like your list. I like to read, listen to music, just loaf around with my slippers and cozy sweatpants. I like your list better. Take care

omigosh, i am so far behind on your blog. bloglines has NOT been updating it! :((

here in japan, since most houses don't have central heating, or even insulation, i go out out out, usually to a shopping center (because they're big enough for walking around or just loafing around without making people mad) or else i go to mr. donut for coffee and a doughnut (free refills on the coffee!) with cross stitch or even a portable knitting project and try to keep the kids quiet for at least two cups of coffee.

i hope it warms up soon!

Baking and TV are my pics! I'm sorry to hear it's been that cold where you are too. I've been inside 3 months now. And guess what? I totally missed Supernatural this weekend. And it's hard to find a place to watch it online in Canada. Doh!

How were the brownies? :)

Domestic Rebel...I like that!
