My 5th Blogversary

Swan of Dreamers turns 5 today!

I want to thank all of my fellow dreamy readers. Especially
my friends who have been coming here year after year. It is
all of you who make blogging the fun adventure is still is.

Since it's all about 5 today. I'm going to share 5 things
that I've learned over my years of blogging.

1) Share your heart with your readers. You will not only
have readers,also, friends as well.

2) Write about what you love, not what's trending in blogland.

3) Beautiful pictures add a lift to any post.

4) It's not about the quantity of readers, but the quality.

5) When you keep yourself inspired, your blog will reflect that.

One of my main goals of Swan of Dreamers is to be a place of
inspiration and happiness. Whatever is going on in your world,
you can come here and get a boost of sunshine. I will continue
to do this online as long as I can.

I like to end this post with these words from Emily Dickinson.
She is one of my favorite poets. I call it Emily's Prayer.

In the name of the Bee –
And of the Butterfly –
And of the Breeze — Amen!

Full Moon Monday

Happy Moonday my friends. Yes, that is not a
mistake I wrote. Monday is named after the Moon.
Tonight is the Full Moon.

It is the Full moon in earthy Virgo. All my Virgo
Sun and Moon babies out there, this is your extra
special sparkly moon.

Earth energy covers anything that has to do with
the material world. Your body, money, security,
food and nature.

This is our last Winter moon, with Spring coming
in a few weeks. For me, this Virgo moon is a reminder
to keep treating my body good. Keep up my self care and
love body project going.

What is the Virgo Moon saying to you?
Need to clean up your finances?
Need to eat better?
To feel more grounded in your life?
To find your inner security?
To Love your body better?
To plan a new garden for the year?

So many questions, my friends. Ponder
what you need to focus on. With Spring
coming in a few weeks, it will be great
to align your goals to the awakening
energy of the earth in Spring.

As always, follow your intuition on
what do to best on This Full Moon.

Wishing you a beautiful Full Moon, my friends.

Stay Golden

Happy Friday, my friends.

Sunday is The Oscars. Every year since 1980,
I have been watching The Academy Awards.
In honor of the Oscars, here is
an updated picture I did of The Golden Ladies
as I call them. The Ten African American
women who have nominated for an Academy
Award for Best Actress. Only Halle
of the Ten have won so far.

Here are the Ten Golden Ladies:
Dorothy Dandridge (1954) in Carmen Jones
Cicely Tyson and Diana Ross (1972) in Sounder and Lady Sing The Blues
Diahann Carroll (1974) in Claudine
Whoopi Goldberg (1985) in The Color Purple
Angela Bassett (1993) in What's Love Got To Do With It.
Halle Berry (2001) in Monster's Ball * Won Oscar Gold
Gabourey Sidibe (2009) in Precious
Viola Davis (2011) in The Help
Quvenzhané Wallis (2012) in Beasts of The Southern Wild.

Quvenzhané being the youngest Best Actress
nominee ever!

Enjoy Oscar Sunday, everyone.

The words utter and outer have similar roots.

Love is a verb

My sweet laptop has gone the way of the wind.
Hoping to rebuild her. For now, I'm online using my cell
phone and my husband's laptop. Also using my notebook
to write things down too. Though I love my laptop, I still
like writing the old fashioned way.

Good news, The Groundhog predicted Spring comes early.
Yay. It's also Love month and Black History Month.
Though for me every day is Black History Month.
Hopefully, my laptop will be back so I can do proper
posts on both of these subjects.

Here is some sweet self-love for you.

* Buy flowers for yourself.
* When you wake up in the morning, look at
yourself in the mirror and say You are Fabulous
and I Love you.
* Wear something beautiful every day.
* Feed your mind loving thoughts about yourself
and your world
* Remember Love is a verb. Be an ambassador
of Love in the world.

Wishing you all a beautiful and Love filled day.
