Almost three weeks ago, I said goodbye
to my beloved Mabel. She lived a full sixteen years.
My old friend's age caught up with her.
I cried as the vet told what I already knew.
I had to let her go. I stayed with her, as she was put to sleep.
Mabel was with me through my single days to my
pregnancy to see me get married and become a mom.
She got to know Jacob who she protected so fiercely
when I pregnant.
There at times I feel her spirit with me.
Goodbye, my sweet Mabel. We will meet again.

Somewhere in Time : June 28th 1912
For all my Somewhere in Time Fans..
Today, a hundred years ago on June 28 1912,
Richard Collier (Christoper Reeve)
goes back in time to meet Elise McKenna (Jane Seymour).
If you have no idea what I'm talking about, go watch
Somewhere in Time (1980) one of my top ten romantic
movies. You can find on it You Tube. (Yay!)
PS. I missed the date by one day. It's actually June 27th. Having a little baby running around, you can mix up dates.

Midsummer
Happy Midsummer as these three days from the 20th-23rd
of June is called. Here in The Bronx, the mighty daystar
shines down with making temperatures to hit 100 degrees
today.
It is a time when the sun is at it's strongest.
When a bit of faerie magic is out and about. When
summer dreams bubble up and tempt you to throw
away some of your cares. Enjoy these hopefully
slower days.
Something beautiful for you this Summer day.
This lovely poem by Emily Dickinson.
A something in a summer’s Day
As slow her flambeaux burn away
Which solemnizes me.
A something in a summer’s noon —
A depth — an Azure — a perfume —
Transcending ecstasy.
And still within a summer’s night
A something so transporting bright
I clap my hands to see —
Then veil my too inspecting face
Lets such a subtle — shimmering grace
Flutter too far for me —
The wizard fingers never rest —
The purple brook within the breast
Still chafes it narrow bed —
Still rears the East her amber Flag —
Guides still the sun along the Crag
His Caravan of Red —
So looking on — the night — the morn
Conclude the wonder gay —
And I meet, coming thro’ the dews
Another summer’s Day!
I finally had a chance last night to enjoy
Midsummer and delve into Summer's embrace
I hope you are able to do the same this weekend.

What's in a Name?
Some women think if you don't expect too much you won't be
let down. I always expect miracles. Sure, I'm let down.
But they're near miracles.- Claudette Colbert.
I just finished watching Sleep My Love starring Claudette, Bob Cummings
and Don Ameche. A sweet film noir feel to it.t For my classic movie fans:
It's available on Netfilx. I've always felt a kinship for Claudette
Colbert. My mom was named for her and am I too with Claudette
being my middle name. Me being actress was written in my name.
Speaking about acting, which I've haven't in a long while. I
taking on a new challenge of directing an one man show. We are
starting rehearsals monthly until we make a date for a special
showing for acting friends. Then from there, do a small run.
I'm waiting for my new union card in the mail for the new merged
acting union for SAG-AFTRA. Getting my card is a major business
acting goal accomplished. YAY!!
Though I'm thick in the adventure of motherhood, acting is
still close to my heart.
Wishing you all a beautiful Monday evening

The Honey Moon
Tonight is The Full Moon. And a partial lunar eclipse.
This sweet June Moon goes by many names. My favorite name
is the Honey Moon.
The Moon is in adventurous fiery Sagittarius. So all my Sag
Sun and Moon Babies this is your special moon. For the
rest of us we can enjoy this sweet Moon.
We have rain and clouds all this week in The Bronx. I may not to
enjoy her light tonight. I like to imagine all
around the world where La Luna shines bright and clear
many will smile and cheer at her.
Wherever you are, think upon the golden arrow the
Archer, Sagittarius carries. What aim or goal would
you shoot with your own inner arrow of courage
and strength?
I shoot the arrow towards health. Release all
this baby weight and more.
Tonight, release those arrows into the night
sky. As always, enjoy this beautiful June Moon.

Mae West
The past couple of years I've been fascinated by Mae West.
I admire the fact she wrote her own plays and movies.
She didn't become a movie star until she was 40!
Those clothes and jewels. She shines like a star.
Even in her last film "Sextette" at 85, she insisted on playing
the woman every man desires.
And those lines! My acting teacher, Hope, always said it's not
the words, but the feeling behind the words. Mae knew
how to make her words sizzle with ease.
If you have Netflix, She Done Him Wrong is available
to watch. It's one of my favorites of Mae.
