Leap Day!!

Woohoo! It's Leap Day.
Yes, it's Feb 29th. It won't
be Feb 29th until 2016!!

Don't let this extra day pass you by.
I had an important errand I had to do
to early this morning. Now, that's it done,
Time to do something fun.

So for the 29th, Leap into joy, fun, delight
adventure, romance and pleasure.
Sometimes life is waiting for us to act
first before great events, people or things
can flow our way.

Swan of Dreamers turns 4

Happy Monday, everyone. My sweet blog is 4 today!! Yipee.
I can't recall now when I started
reading blogs. I had this urge to jump into
this new blogging world. I worried about
what I write about? Who would read it? How
would people find me?


I have found it's in the doing that
you find all the answers. I started blogging
about what interested me. For months, I had
no comments. And on a rare day, I get one
comment.


After a while, people found me. And enjoyed
coming to Swan of Dreamers. I may not have
a thousand plus readers. What I do have is
kindred spirits who come here and share their
thoughts, love and comments with me. For
that I'm truly grateful.


If anyone is new to blogging, I say blog
with an open heart and a good spirit. Truly
what you give out, you do get back. I send
all my love to you, my wonderful and great
readers.

Downton Abbey

Happy Thursday, everyone.

So, for the past Sundays I have been transfixed
watching Downton Abbey. I found this video on Sunday
night on twitter. I had to share this with all the Downton
Abbey fans out there especially ones who love Maggie
Smith as Lady Grantham. She is a hoot! Those
looks she gives reminds me of my Grandmother.

Beyond Reality

In between taking care of Jacob, I have been carving out
mommy time. What do I do? Still watching tv and movies.
For my birthday, I treated myself to buy an old favorite
of mine: the TV show Beyond Reality (1991 - 1993)

Beyond Reality starred Shari Belafonte and Carl Marotte
as Dr. Laura Wingate and Professor J.J. Stillman. They
teach Parapsychology at a local university while
investigating paranormal cases that came their way.

They had some really stand out episodes which revolved
around personality reality, possession, reincarnation
and past life. I enjoyed the friendship between
Laura and J.J. that gave the show a warmth to it.
It is one of the few shows of a paranormal/fantasy
theme to have a African American woman as the main female lead.
Which is one of the reasons I loved the show as much as I did.

The first season is on DVD. I'm hoping season two will
be released soon, so I can complete the series. If there
are any other fan of the series, I love to hear from you.
I'm the only person I know who even watched the show. If
you never seen it, I say check it out. It's a good series.

Mori Girl Too

Happy Thursday, everyone.
I'm here to admit my obsession with Pinterest.
From reading your blogs, I know I'm not
the only one.

It's been a blast looking at all that gorgeous
imagery. Creating my own boards and looking
up others.

What do I love to look up most is my love
of Mori Girl style.

I did a post on Mori Girl a couple of months back.
It's a style that originated in Japan
in about 2007 Mori in Japanese
means Forest. Mori Girls translates to
Forest Girls.It's all all about an earthy,
romantic and nature look.

I love it because it echoes the way I like
to dress: with long skirts, a touch of lace
or frill to my blouses and making me feel
I have a touch of romance in my outfits.

Of course,this style is not for everyone.
For me, it makes my eyes get all dreamy
and feel warm inside.

My Sweet Valentine

This is a day to celebrate Love in
all her beautiful expressions.

Here is my Sweet Little Valentine.
My Jacob is now 4 months and half.
He is better than any chocolate or
roses I could ever get.

Whitney

I came on Twitter last night and saw the trend
saying Whitney had died. I thought it was another
death hoax. When I went on google to see it was
true..my heart felt sick.

Did I know Whitney Houston, personally? No, she felt
like part of my extended famous family. I was 15,
when Whitney burst on the screen. Since then, she
has been a constant presence in music and movies for
me. My mom and I even went to see her in Radio City
Music Hall many year ago.

How she died is still unclear. The past years of
her life mired with drama and drugs. I like to
believe that she was turning things around and
allowing herself to soar again. Especially with
her starring in the remake of the movie: Sparkle.
Her fans around the world including myself mourn her
passing. My heart goes out especially to her family.
They didn't lose an icon, they lost their beloved one.

Happy Full Moon everyone.



This is one of my favorite Full Moons.
I call it the Fame Moon in honor of it
being the Full Moon in Leo.

All my Leo Sun and Moon sign babies, this
is your Moon!! For the rest of us, we can
still use the fiery and creative energy of
this Moon.

I call this the Fame Moon because Leo energy
lets people know they are here! This Full Moon
reminds us to not hide our light and shine
so everyone can see. If we hide, then the people
we need to serve or help with our talents,
can never find us.

So, take the pledge tonight to toot your
own horn, let people know what your talents
are and if there is something you really want,
go for it. Because the good side of Fame
can change the world for the better.

Imbolc, Candlemas, Groundhog Day.


It is a day of honoring light and the
first stirrings of Spring. Depending
on where you are right now, Spring may
feel so faraway. Take heart, Spring
is coming.

* For today, light your candles.
You can put one candle in each
room in your house.

* Buy lovely flowers especially
in white and yellow to decorate.

* Bake or eat things with dairy products
in it.

* Make a list of your Spring goals.
And take stock of your Winter goals.
