Time to Frolic...

Happy Dreamy Thursday, my fellow Dreamers.
Dreamy Thursday will be back in two weeks.

My Gypsy side is needing time to feel free and frolic.
I'll be away from Swan of Dreamers. I'll still
be around popping in to your blogs. I should be back
around Beltane/May Day.

Here are Three fun tips for all of you:

The sun is in Taurus. This sign bursts
with luxury, wealth, fertility, sensuality.
So you want to be more sexy and wealthy,
now is the time to allow that to come out of you.

Mae West, Mae West Mae West!. If you have never seen
a Mae West movie, please do yourself a favor,
and do. She is bawdy, funny and sexy. I love the
fact some of her films are adapted from her own plays.
Go on, Mae. I have on deck tonight: She Done Him Wrong
starring Mae and Cary Grant.

Flowers. One of my favorite things is to buy
fresh flowers. It doesn't have to be roses.
You can get sunflowers, carnations, daisies,
baby's breath, lillies. You don't need a whole
bouquet. A lone Sunflower is beautiful to display.
Even pick a few wildflowers in your area. My favorite spring
flower are dandelions. I love seeing them
pop up because I know Spring is here.

Have a beautiful and enchanted April. See you
all back here in May.

Pink Moon

What Joy, it is a Full Moon tonight.

This Full Moon has many names. I adore
the name Pink Moon because all of the lovely
flowers in beautiful shades including Pink
are beginning to bloom now. A second runner
up for me is the Hare Moon. Giving a nod
to our animal friend: The Bunny.

The Pink Moon is in the sign of Libra.
So all my sun sign and moon sign in Libra
this moon is special for you.

For the rest of us, we can still play
and dance under this Full Moon.

Libra is ruled by the one of
the most beautiful and well known Love
Goddesses: Venus.

For this Full Moon you can:

Decide to make more time for
Self-Love. That can take any form:
carving out time to be, standing up
for yourself more or schedule a long
over due retreat for yourself.

Treat yourself to a pretty spring
outfit and make up. ( I did
some Beauty shopping for myself today
with a pretty blue Asian styled skirt,
lipstick and new sneakers.)

Make plans to made amends with old
friends/family if need be.(Wait till
after Mercury Retrograde to do this: April
26th); Or let go of any guilt you are carrying
around needlessly.

If you have been feeling oppressed in any way,
light a candle to call on Lady Justice (personified
in the Justice figure outside courthouses.) to
bring your relief and the fairness you deserve.

These are a few suggestions. As always, follow
your own guidance on what to do under this
Pink Moon.

Most importantly have fun and honor yourself.
Wishing you all a wonderful Pink Moon.

Be

Happy Wednesday or for me it's
Tired Wednesday.

A lot of responsibilities have been
piling up on me in the last few weeks
on all parts of my life. Today, I had a
whole lot of errands to do.

You know what? The errands and the
world can wait for a day. I am spending
my day to recharge and relax.

If you have a lot of errands and tasks.
Let it go for one day. And Just Be.
The world will still be able to spin
without you.

Self Promotion Sunday

Sunday's energy is all about success, fame
wealth and personal power.

With all this lovely Sunday energy, I'm
starting my first Self promotion Sunday.
(Since this is the first, I'll probably do it
bi monthly on Sundays.)

If you or someone you love is in the NYC area
and needs a Private Acting Teacher, I am available.
My background is 3yr of Method Training at The Lee Strasberg
Theater Institute and years as a working actor.
My focus is to bring energy, freedom, fun and
joy back to your acting. I truly love acting: performing
and teaching. It's all one big bowl of love
for me.

Here's my fun acting tip: If you feel stuck
with your acting, imagine what advice your
favorite actors (alive or dead)would
give to you.

One of my favorite examples of this,
comes from a dream. It happened when I was
getting back into Shakespeare. I had dream with Laurence
Olivier, one of the greatest Shakespearean actors of the 20th century.
He admonished me in an imperial tone.
"Be not all emotional, Shell. Listen to the music
of the words to take where you need to go."

This is great advice I still use today when
doing Shakespeare and contemporary acting.
Thank you, Sir Larry.

Once again, come to Michelleswan.weebly.com or
contact me at Jettswan@gmail for all the info
on my Acting Teaching services. Open to beginners
and seasoned actors.

Have a beautiful Sunday everyone.

Dreamy Thursday : Emily Dickinson

Woo hoo..It's my favorite day: Thursday!
Which means it is Dreamy Thursday here.

If you are new here, Dreamy Thursday is the
day I talk about anything and anyone
that give me that beautiful blissful Dreamy
feeling.

Today's Dreamy Thursday is on Emily Dickinson
(Dec 10, 1830 - May 15 1886) especially apt
with this being Poetry Month.

Known in her hometown of Amherst, Massachusetts
as the reclusive "Lady in White", Emily Dickinson's
poetry defies the image that she had in her town
and still follows her today.

When I read Emily, I feel like I know her soul.
Her poetry vibrates with energy, life and passion.
I like to imagine that Emily allowed me to have
tea with her on a sunny Spring afternoon.
We talk on many topics.

I ask her have you been in love?
Emily with a far away
look in her eyes begins to speak.

My River runs to thee—
Blue Sea! Wilt welcome me?
My River wait reply—
Oh Sea—look graciously—
I'll fetch thee Brooks
From spotted nooks—
Say—Sea—Take Me!

and she speaks more on Love and Passion...

Wild nights - Wild nights!
Were I with thee
Wild nights should be
Our luxury!

Futile - the winds -
To a Heart in port -
Done with the Compass -
Done with the Chart!

Rowing in Eden -
Ah - the Sea!
Might I but moor - tonight -
In thee!

And I share with Emily of my dear friend
who died two years ago, that I still miss.
Emily has her share of sorrows. She replies:

Each that we lose takes part of us;
A crescent still abides,
Which like the moon, some turbid night,
Is summoned by the tides.

or even in a more quiet voice she shares:

One need not be a Chamber — to be Haunted —
One need not be a House —
The Brain has Corridors — surpassing
Material Place —

Far safer, of a Midnight Meeting
External Ghost
Than its interior Confronting —
That Cooler Host.

Far safer, through an Abbey gallop,
The Stones a'chase —
Than Unarmed, one's a'self encounter —
In lonesome Place —

Ourself behind ourself, concealed —
Should startle most —
Assassin hid in our Apartment
Be Horror's least.

The Body — borrows a Revolver —
He bolts the Door —
O'erlooking a superior spectre —
Or More —

Emily pats my hand. We turn to
discuss how we both love nature.
And Emily lights up with her brown
eyes sparkling. She lifts up the
window to the outside world.
And says:

Some things that fly there be —
Birds — Hours — the Bumblebee —
Of these no Elegy.

Some things that stay there be —
Grief — Hills — Eternity —
Nor this behooveth me.

There are that resting, rise.
Can I expound the skies?
How still the Riddle lies!

I tell her how I feel at home
with Nature and Emily nods in reply.
And says:

The Bee is not afraid of me.
I know the Butterfly.
The pretty people in the Woods
Receive me cordially --

The Brooks laugh louder when I come --
The Breezes madder play;
Wherefore mine eye thy silver mists,
Wherefore, Oh Summer's Day?

I thank Emily for having me over for tea.
She tells me to come anytime. For
we are kindred spirits.

This is just a sampling of the
1700 poems she wrote. You can
find Emily's poems at your local
library, bookstore and online.
Be aware her poems have been edited.
Try to find her poems with her
lovely dashes intact, the way
she originally wrote them.

If you enjoy Dreamy Thursday here,
you can be a Guest Blogger at Swan of Dreamers

Monday Visions

Happy Monday,everyone.

The Aries New Moon was yesterday, we are
still riding the Mercury Retrograde that
doesn't end till April 23rd.(Don't quote me
on that date, now.)With Aries new moon
vibrating, it can give a kick of fiery
energy to our dreams. Especially,
ones that have been sluggish. With all of that
said, Mondays are good to spend time to
flow with our dreams.

Sometimes, I get caught up in doing action steps,
I forget to check in and see how my Dreams
feel to me. Do they feel right? Or do some of
my dreams want to go in another direction? Am
I allowing that happen or blocking my own progress.
Dreams take on a life on their own after a while.
The best we can do is shepherd them along.

What Dreams have I been working on?
I'm writing a first draft of my one woman show.
Also, working on a e-book about acting for
potential students. I did a lot of rewriting yesterday.
Today I'm going to relax. Gaze out my window to
look at the clouds. Then let My Dreams
speak to me and guide me to the next step.
