New Year's Eve

Wow, so now it's only a couple of hours till the New Year.

For me, I'm happy to usher in this New Year of 2011.
2010 was a hard year for me, as was 2009.
I had my back pushed up against the wall numerous times.
Or as I like to say,(being the Star Wars fan that I am)
I had to fight Vader again and again.

What I relearned this year will serve me the rest of
my life.

My word for 2010 is Breakthrough. I did just that.
My original intent for picking the word is to have
a breakthrough with my acting career. I did in small
ways which was good, not the big break I wanted.

What happened instead, I made huge breakthroughs with
dealing with my grief, eating patterns, finances
family and love. You know what I'm glad it all
happened even the most painful of it.

If you have chosen your word for the year, know
that it can manifest in ways you didn't expect.
So be prepared.

My word for 2011 is Creativity! Yay!!
There is so much I want to create and make real
in 2011. That is what I'm intending to do.

I'm wishing all of you a Wonderful and Bright
2011. I'll see you all right back here in the
New Year.

Here comes The Sun

Last night, I woke up around 3am. I got to see the Lunar Eclipse.
The Moon hidden and glowing in a soft red. It was amazing. I stood
looking out my wide living room window transfixed.

Then I had my boyfriend wake me up before sunrise. My home
faces the west, so I couldn't see the sunrise directly. I did
see the Moon set and the light of the Sun reflected in apartment
windows across from me. The sky began to lighten to a soft blue.
I played Here Comes The Sun by The Beatles and Hey Baby (New Rising
Sun) by Jimi Hendrix to greet the Sun. Though the Winter Solstice,
is known as the darkest day of the Year. From this day forth,
the days will get longer. Now, that's something to celebrate.

Today is Yule aka The Winter Solstice, A Full Moon, a Lunar
Eclipse and how can I forget, The First Day of Winter. There is
a lot of bright and powerful energy in the air. For me, I feel
like just soaking this all in quietly. Being this is the last
Full Moon of 2010, I'm in the mood to just relax. It has been one
heck of a ride this year.

Wishing you all a wonderful day and night. As always, have
fun on the this Yule Full Moon.

Happy Birthday, Jane

I had a whole another idea for a post. Then
I found out earlier that today is Jane Austen's birthday.

How could I not show love to Jane. It is her 235th birthday.
Still looking good, Jane! Seriously, Jane Austen seems to
stay relevant even after two centuries. Amazing.

What is your favorite Jane Austen book? I know everyone
loves Pride and Prejudice. I enjoyed it too. My favorite
is Persuasion. This novel appeals to my romantic soul.
I do feel a kinship with Anne Elliot, the heroine of the book.
I guess I know all about having a good heart and being put
upon my others.

Captain Frederick Wentworth melts my heart when he finally
realizes what a dunderhead he is about his feelings toward
Anne.

This has to be one of my favorite passages in Persuasion.
I feel one of my favorite letters in all of literature.
Here is part of the letter Captain Wentworth sends to Anne.

I can listen no longer in silence. I must speak to you by such means
as are within my reach. You pierce my soul. I am half agony,
half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings
are gone for ever. I offer myself to you again with a heart
even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight years
and a half ago. Dare not say that man forgets sooner than woman,
that his love has an earlier death. I have loved none but you.
Unjust I may have been, weak and resentful I have been,
but never inconstant.

Now, if you haven't read Persuasion. Do yourself a favorite
and read it.

Happy Birthday, Jane. Thank you for all your wonderful characters
who live in the novels that we all hold so dear.

Yemanya

I had all these cool post ideas. It didn't feel right. I looked
at my altar where Yemanya sat for one of my cards of the day. She
said why don't write about me. I said of course. When a Goddess
suggest you write about her, you really should.

Yemanya is my Goddess of the day. I always smile when I see
this beautiful African Goddess. To me is she is a Mother
full of healing, love and magic. As my mentor who I call
Obi Wan says, she is the Mother Goddess of the Ocean.
Today is her one of her sacred days.

This image of her comes from Doreen Virtue's Goddess Guidance
Oracle Deck.

Beyond the words on the card. I feel Yemanya says Be ready
to dive into your own ocean of prosperity and success.
How do you do that? Do what you can today toward your
dreams and goals. When tomorrow comes, you get a knock
for an offer of a job, interview, opportunity, you will
be ready! To me preparation is half of being successful.

I know people are starting to focus on 2011. We still have
three weeks to go in 2010. A lot can happen in three weeks.
So don't write off your 2010 dreams yet.

Wishing you all a wonderful Monday.

Dream Thought #33 :Dreams

I had an amazing dream last Thursday night.
A dream that has forever changed how I look
at life.

Sometimes we look for answers in our lives,
the answers lie in our dream world. Don't
discount your night time dreams, my friends.
They are a precious resource as we go through our
lives.

Emily Bronte said it best:
"I have dreamed in my life, dreams that have stayed with me
ever after, and changed my ideas; they have gone through
and through me, like wine through water,
and altered the color of my mind."

Sex and Mrs. X

"Lipstick, Lipstick, Lipstick, remember those words.
A new lipstick shade can change everything."
Madame Simone (Jacqueline Bisset)

One of my favorite movies is actually one that was
made for Television. It's called Sex and Mrs. X (2000)
starring Linda Hamilton and Jacqueline Bisset. It's based
on a true story which makes it more delicious. Joanna (Linda Hamilton)
,in the midst of her marriage crumbling, gets an assignment to go
to Paris to interview the infamous Madame Simone(Jacqueline Bisset).
That is when the fun begins.

I can only say if you have never seen it, rent it or heck, even
buy it from Amazon. It's that good.

New Moon in Sagittarius

It is the last New Moon of 2010!

The New Moon is bathing in all that freedom loving,
optimistic and fiery Sagittarius energy.

All that lovely lunar light is there for us to
use in our own lives.

How?

Where in your life you need to feel free,
more hopeful or kick up your creative fires?
Think on that today and tomorrow and See
what your intuitive mind tells you. Then
shoot that arrow of action like Sagittarius
does and see what happens.

Happy New Moon, everyone.

Happy December

It's finally December. The last month of 2010.

December to me is the month of light and miracles.

Whatever religion you practice, the light returns in one
form or another to the world.

How precious is light especially in the short day time
hours we have this month.

There is also your inner light. Have you been tending
to it? Or have you been sacrificing your light to shine
for others? No matter how much you care for others, you
have to keep your own light clear and strong.

Miracles happen every day. I think most of the time
we think it's going to be something big. I like to celebrate
the daily miracles.

When things are bad, someone says the right word to you
to keep you going. Or you buy something for a friend, it's
what they needed most right now.

If you need a miracle, ask for one. Allow yourself to
receive miracles. If you don't allow it, how will it
be able to come in for you.

When a miracle happens, no matter how big or small. Just
say thank you. Smile and remember that we are loved all
the time. Even if we forget sometimes.

Wishing all of you a December full of Light and Miracles.
