Sleepy Tuesday

I feel like this bunny. I started a part time gig as a theater manager. I have to get use to the hours. It is a lovely theater where I performed last year. I'm grateful for the money; Working here feels like home to me.

Thank you all for your wonderful and affirming comments on my video. I'm going to shoot for at least to do 2 videos every month. It stretches my acting muscles and it's a lot of fun. I also have to get cracking with working out my ideas for the Halloween party being thrown by the talented and creative Vanessa. I have a link for it on my sidebar at the top on the right side. I know Ravens will be involved somehow. How it will all be worked out I'll have to see.

I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday. As always, do spend some time today on your creative dreams. Your dreams are waiting for you to bring them to life.

Jane Eyre and Me

I hope everyone is having a fab weekend so far. I have a new video post. (I know I haven't done one since Spring.) This is a monologue I got directly from Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. I love this passage. I hope you do too. And I have a special guest star in the background, Mabel, who wanted to share the spotlight with me.

Enjoy.

I celebrate myself

Happy Thursday, everyone. I have a lot of acting goals for myself. Sometimes I get so caught up in doing, I never take the time to celebrate when something is achieved. (I'm sure I'm not alone in this.)

Today I'm going to rectify this. One of my goals was to get on IMDB. If you don't know what that is, it's the Internet Movie Database. It's my go to place in the morning to see what's going on in movies, tv, etc.

I'm proud to say I'm on it, finally! I'm also the only Michelle Swan on it as well. I only have one credit listed. I see it as the beginning of more good acting jobs to follow. Here I am here. Eventually, I'm going to upgrade to put more bio info on it.

How about all of you? Is there something you've accomplished and you haven't celebrated? Today make it the day to celebrate it. Toot your own horn. Let the world know what you have done. Let me know too. I love to hear all.

Autumn Enters

The time of longer nights and pumpkins is upon us. When the walls between the worlds are beginning to grow thin. Sweaters and leaves blaze everywhere in beautiful colors.

This day is of equal light and dark. A balance which happens only twice a year. From this day on, the sunlight is extra special since we will have less of it and the night are to be more magical with the more hours we have. When I was a girl, I always looked forward to the Autumn months. I still do. There is a sense of something special riding in the air for me this Autumn. What will it bring I wonder?

On Sunday, I had the pleasure of participating in my first intuitive fair. Some read Tarot cards (like me), a few read people by just looking into their eyes, others healed with energy from years of studying reiki. For me it was a truly special day. I got to be with a tribe of people like me of all ages, races and gender. I finished the fair beaming with happiness and energy.

For Autumn and especially on this day of balance and harvest, I wish for all of you to find your tribe in areas of your life where you need it most. Happy Autumn.

New Moon

Last night was The New Moon in the sign of Virgo. The energy of any moon stays around for at least three days. As the days progress, you'll start seeing lady moon growing in the sky becoming more visible.

The New Moon right around the Autumn Equinox is a great moon to think, plan, dream on your plans for the Autumn months. Is there a big goal you want to accomplish or maybe a series of little ones. Spend time this weekend to make your plans. Take a look at what your harvesting or reaping in your life now. Do you like what you have manifested so far? If you have, then that's great. If not, you can always begin today anew.

Let me share an example with you, late July, my financial woes was serious to me. I felt like I barely had two nickels together. I started saying thank you more for the money I had, spent money on what I needed instead of hoarding it in fear, listening and speaking my money affirmations, keeping my mind on what is good. Since September began, all kinds of money has been coming my way with more jobs and people gifting me extra cash. My finances feel brighter to me. I feel confident about what goodness the Autumn months will bring.

Did all those good thoughts, prayers, affirmations I started in late July manifest to a better September. I feel they did. Whatever your lacking on this New Moon, Say prayers, affirmations, songs, uplifting thoughts or whatever creative way works for you on what you want to come to you. Now it may take some time, I feel God's time and our time are different. I feel it will come to you if this is what you truly desire. Be Patient. Have Faith. Soak your mind in all that is positive and happy.

Wishing all the good you desire for yourself and more on This New Moon.

Love for Patrick

The first time I saw Patrick Swayze was way back in 1985 in the mini-series "North and South." I remember the next day going to school with my head in a buzz with about this seriously cute actor.

So when he made it big in Dirty Dancing, I felt like the public was catching up with what I already knew about him. Patrick had depths to go along with those good looks. I have no shame to admit that along with loving the movie , I also had the soundtrack too. I had the tape. (Yes, this is right before CD's began to get big) I played over and over "She's Like The Wind" that he sang. Imagining he sang it about me.

Out of all his movies, one of my personal favorite Patrick movies has to be To Wong Foo. I like he played against type to play the graceful and elegant Miss Vida.

Now, Patrick is dancing with the angels. Thank you for all the movies you have given us. For me personally, I'll miss you.

'Til We Meet Again

I love old movies; I especially like finding movies that I think could be remade again with actors of all races.

About three months ago I saw One Way Passage (1932) starring Kay Francis and William Powell. I do adore William Powell because he is such a witty actor. I loved the movie, it captured my romantic heart. When I heard Robert Osborne say there was a remake of it in 1940, I hoped to catch it. On Thursday, I saw the remake called 'Til We Meet Again (1940) starring Merle Oberon and George Brent. I enjoyed this version as well.

The basic premise is a woman dying of a frail heart and criminal sentenced to hang meet in a bar in Hong Kong and then again on a cruise. They fall in love. Of course, time is not on their side. Me telling you this is not going to ruin the story at all. Both versions are good and unique in their own way. I also enjoy the fact actor Frank McHugh plays the same role in both versions. They just change the character's name. I think I may be more in favor of One Way Passage because I like William Powell's performance in this movie. Though Merle Oberon is so enchanting in Till We Meet Again.

I'm not sure if they are out on DVD yet. I hope they are. I like to own them. I know Turner Classic Movie will replay them again. One Way Passage and 'Til We Meet Again are both romantic movies not to be missed.

I couldn't find a video of One Way Passage. Here is a Trailer of 'Til We Meet Again.

Remembering

I remember this day for those who died
For the families who have an empty seat at their tables
For all the lives affected by the act of a few who chose hate instead of love
I remember.

Happy Thursday

Happy Thursday. It's my favorite day.

Why am I happy?

My living room is almost half way done with painting.

I got a cool pretty green ottoman for my comfy chair in my bedroom.

The clouds today look fluffy and deep. (It's going to rain soon.)

Dean and Sam are back with the Supernatural season five premiere.

My new favorite quote comes from the Prez: "We did not come to fear the future. We came here to shape it."

I can't say enough how important it is to celebrate what makes you happy. You attract what you focus on. So if your having a difficult day, find the happy, the silly and the whimsical. Even if it's small, it can make a difference. Trust me, I know.

I hope you are working on one of your dreams today. Your dreams need you to become real.

To go Big, do it Small

I have a tendency to get overwhelmed quickly. I've learned over the years to do as Mom would tell me: one thing at a time, Shell. I've translated this into when I have to do projects, I break it down into smaller steps to get them completed.

I've talked before about me painting my place since the beginning of August. I've painted my bedroom, foyer and now starting in the living room. Most people paint a whole room in a day. I wanted to do that but I felt like it was too much. I knew I get overwhelmed and frustrated easily. I decided to paint in sections. A big wall I slice into 3 sections. A smaller wall takes 2 sections. Each section would get painted a day. Of course, this means more time of me painting over all. Painting in bursts of two hours a day then having the rest of the day for other things feels great. I enjoy the experience of painting my walls with my own hands. With each section I get a sense of accomplishment, I love seeing the rooms begin to take on whole another vibe with their colors.

As Autumn approaches, you may feel the call to do big plans for the season for your home, family or yourself. Big plans are fine. I love to dream big! To accomplish the big things in your life break it down in smaller steps. Make it comfortable for you to do. If you make things comfortable and manageable, you will be more successful completing it.

If I planned on painting my whole home in one week. It would have been a mess for me. I may have gave up half way through. So you want to Go Big, Do it Small. Before you know it you have accomplished your Big plans.

Apple Moon

Happy Full Moon, everyone. It's a Friday Full Moon in the sign of Pisces. This Moon has numerous names, I decided to call this the Apple Moon since this is the time when apple picking season is right around the bend.

Like the picture up above, dive in the waters of imagination and the mystical. It's the Moon to indulge in a fantasy or two. (Safely of course.) Do something which scares you a little but you have wanted to do for a while, allow your heart to open a little more with hope if your life has been challenging or go bake magical brownies. (The secret to making magical brownies when you mix the ingredients you make a wish or prayer for something close to your heart. Trust me the brownies taste so much better and makes everyone feel good!)

If your busy tonight, the energy of the full moon lasts for two more days before it begins to wane. Enjoy your Labor Day weekend with the energy of this beautiful Moon to light up your nights.

Welcome September

I'm happy September is here.I feel the winds of Autumn already inspiring me. My heart is healing day by day. I spent part of my afternoon writing my to do list/goals for each areas of my life: my acting, my tutoring, my personal life and my home. Now, I have a clearer focus for the rest of 2009. I have yet to do my 100 list of things I want to do in my life. That's next. Maybe work on that tomorrow.

Here is another scan from my beloved Richard Scarry Book. Seriously, it's falling apart. I do love it. It still has my scribblings, spots, and drawings from me as a little girl.

I'm wishing all of you a creative and inspiring September. Today spend time making a list for your dreams. All dreams are worthy: big or small.
